Schmidt, Lucille, Nov. 3, 1925- Nov. 10, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebrska 16 Nov 2014 Lucille Schmidt, of Federal Way/Tacoma, Wash., passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 in the presence of her daughters. Lucille was born Nov. 3, 1925 in Mitchell, the daughter or Marie (Urich) and John Groskopf. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1944 and attended college. She married Floyd V. Schmidt Feb. 25, 1945 in Scottsbluff. Following their marriage they farmed in Mitchell. In 1949 they moved to Toppenish, Wash., where they farmed and operated McKinley Market on Fort Road. In 1959, she began working for the School District until her retirement and then was the Director of the Pre-School at Calvary Lutheran Church. In 1967 the Schmidts moved to Sunnyside, Wash., and in 1993 Lucille moved to Federal Way, Wash., to live near family. Lucilles activities focused around her family, friends and church. She enjoyed many hobbies, cooking, gardening, traveling, decorating for holidays, computers, and listening to books on her i-pod. Lucille is survived by three daughters, Maureen Blake of Oakville, Wash., Cheryl Samek and husband Rick of Federal Way, Wash., and (Merry) Lea Schmidt of Tacoma, Wash.; four very special grandchildren, Jef Blake (and Rossie) of Auburn, Wash., Scott Blake (and Becky) of Oakville, Wash., Brian Blake (and Jennifer) of Pendleton, Ore., and Katie Samek of Federal Way, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren, twins Konrad and Lily of Oakville Wash., and Hunter of Pendleton, Ore., and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; parents John and Marie Groskopf; siblings John, Alex and Eddie Groskopf, Molly Kissler, Annie Kurtz, and Helen Summerville and several beloved nieces and nephews. Interment will be Friday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. in Reservation Memorial Park, Wapato, Wash. Memorial Service will be Friday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Milton, Wash.
