    3. Martha E. Issinghoff Jul. 30, 1925 - Jun. 14, 2014 Martha Issinghoff, age 88, died June 14, 2014. She was born July 30, 1925 to Anton and Anna Sauer Stremel, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Hays, Kansas. She received her primary education at St. Mary's Catholic School, Loretto, Rush County, Kansas; graduated from Windthorst High School, Windthorst, Kansas. On January 28, 1947, she married Linus Clinton Issinghoff at the Immaculate Heart of Mary church at Windthorst, Kansas. Her husband's retirement brought them to Dodge City, Kansas in 1990 where she was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral. In 2002 they moved to Osage City, Kansas where she belonged to St. Patrick's parish. She was a member of the Altar Society in both parishes. She belonged to the Daughters of Isabella's St. Rita's Circle in Dodge City. She was a life member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) in Lincoln, Nebraska. She served on the International Board of Directors and as President of the Foundation of AHSGR. She organized five chapters for the Society and the Kansas Round Up of AHSGR chapters in Kansas. She served as President of the Golden Wheat Chapter, Wichita, and of the Kansas Round Up of chapters. Through AHSGR she became an avid researcher of her ancestral genealogy and history. She was the author of three books; one each on the Stremel and Sauer Families in Germany, Russia and America and on her Issinghoff family in Germany and America. She is survived by two daughters, Carla Ann (and Richard) Wesson of Pullman, Washington; Mary Kristine (and Patrick) Lawless of Osage City, Kansas and a son Gregory (and Kristin) Issinghoff of Clovis, California; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linus Clinton Issinghoff; her parents; five brothers and seven sisters. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Osage City, Kansas. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM., Tuesday evening at the church. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Windthorst Heritage, Inc. and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel at 107 N. 6th street, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
