Wolf, Vivian, Feb. 17, 1928-Sept. 21, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 28 Sep 2014 Age: 86 Residence: Greeley Vivian Joyce Wolf, 86, passed away peacefully in Greeley, on Sept. 21, 2014 after a brief illness. Vivian was born to Henry and Clara (Peterson) Grinde on Feb. 17, 1928 in Sheyenne, N.D., the youngest of their four girls. During the Depression, the family moved to New Rockford, N.D., where Vivian graduated high school in 1946 as valedictorian of her class. She worked for a number of years as a registered nurse, following her graduation in 1949 from the Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minn. Vivian married Louis Wolf in April 1956 in Scottsbluff, Neb. and was the proud mother of six children. The family moved six times during Louis career with Great Western Sugar, finally settling in Greeley. Together they made each house a home. Vivian was a life-long Lutheran, and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Greeley. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, music and art, writing and receiving letters, and afternoon coffee. Vivian and Louis were members of numerous museums and charitable organizations, and enjoyed attending performances of the Greeley Philharmonic. Vivian will be remembered as someone who loved to visit, was a good listener, and who was thoughtful, patient and kind. She is survived by her husband, Louis, and children, Arthur Wolf (Holly) of Las Vegas, Nev.; Cindy Kinlund (Bracken) of Greeley, Mary Walz (Gale) of St. Francis, Kan, Randi Wolf of Littleton, Colo., Nicholas Wolf of Greeley, and Barbara Chacon (Greg) of Longmont, Colo. She and Louis have nine grandchildren, Montana (Kinlund) Mitchell, Emily Walz, Laurel (Kinlund) LaBonde, Amara Wolf, R.L. Walz, Andrew Wolf, Shelby Kinlund, Hali Wolf, and Michaela Wolf. Their first great-grandchild is on the way. Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and her three sisters: Gwendolyn Holm, Eunice Rheinfrank, and Helen Lance. A service for immediate family was held, and no additional services are planned.
