This is just a cameo appearance. Band 3 of Ella Gieg’s *Auswanderungen aus dem Odenwaldkreis *is back in print. I had spent months in late 2012 trying to buy all five of Gieg’s volumes and could never find Band 3. Even when I went to Germany in February 2013, a copy for sale could not be located. This is a new edition for 2014, with a Forward by Ms. Gieg, as well as new statistical data for emigrants from the Odenwald for Bände 1-5. Band 3 has 102 pages of front matter on the lives of emigrants from the Odenwald in their newly adopted lands. This front matter is before the listing of emigrants from Brensbach, Fränkisch-Crumbach and Reichelsheim Grensprenz Valley and nearby villages. 28 pages of front matter deal with Germans who went to Russia, and there are several photographs from the Bundesarchiv Koblenz of German life in Russia. So I learned that the Bundesarchiv in Koblenz is another source of information in Germany on the Germans in Russia. The price of this volume is very reasonable and I had it in hand less than a week after it was ordered.
