    3. Jerger, Margaret Elizabeth (Zitterkopf) Margaret Elizabeth (Zitterkopf) Jerger, 93, went with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, while at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at the Gering Memorial Chapel in Gering with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Internment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Legacy of the Plains Museum or donor’s choice. Cremation has taken place as to her wishes. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Margaret was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Herington, Kan., to Jacob and Barbara (Koch) Zitterkopf. In April 1926, the family moved to Cedar Valley, where she obtained her education, helped the family on the farm, and helped raise her siblings due to her mother’s fragile health. In addition, she cared for her father in his later years in life. On Jan. 8, 1950, she married Rueben Jerger of Gering Valley. There were two sons born to this marriage: Stephen and Rodney. She was greatly involved with the Gering Valley Project Club and helped the club at the County Fair. She was a great cook and sewed the family clothes. She worked at Lichter Duo Rest and Trimline as a seamstress. She loved to see her children and grandchildren visit and could always be seen sitting in her chair reading her bible. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Judy of Chandler, Ariz., Rodney of Mesa, Ariz., 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren with a new one to arrive shortly; sister, Hilda Skruck of Hubbard, Ohio and sister-in-law Rita Zitterkopf of Morrill, as well as and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Archie, Conrad, Harry, Emmanuel, Jack, and daughter-in-law, Elaine.
