Stephen "Steve" Robinson 1943-2014 Steve Robinson passed away peacefully at home August 8 surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends. He was born March 1, 1943 in Walla Walla, Washington to his parents Don and Rose (Frank) Robinson. He married Laurel Willener of Eugene on January, 1966. They were married 32 years when Laurel died in April, 1998. Steve met Cathy Stone of Roseburg in 2002 and they were married in October, 2003. Steve graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in business and served in the U S Coast Guard Reserves. In 1969 he began a 25 year career with First Interstate Bank in Eugene. After retiring from banking he worked as Optical Manager at Laurel Hill Center from 1997 to 2001. He was a member of Springfield Lions Club and a member of a local Corvette Club. His hobbies and passion included collecting and repairing antique clocks as well as photography and spending time in the outdoors. Steve and Cathy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe and taking road trips with their dear friends, Rod and Sophie Luckovich. Steve proudly attended his daughter Kim's horse shows throughout Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Kim Robinson and her fiancé Todd Browning of Eugene; stepson Joey Barrote of Eugene; stepdaughter, Nicole Barrote of San Diego, CA; Mark Chirrick, who is like a son, and his wife, Tara, and daughter, Tatum, of Roseburg; sister, Dorothy Brandner of Eugene; and nieces, Adriana of Portland and Jeanette of Eugene. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16th at 1 pm at Shedd Institute 868 High St. Eugene, OR 97401 In lieu of flowers the family requests any remembrances be made to the American Lung Association - Research Pulmonary Fibrosis, 7420 SW Bridgeport Rd.
