OLSON, ELLA ALMA , March 18, 1922- August 22, 2014 Torrington Telegram Torrington, Wyoming 27 Aug 2014 Jackson, Wyoming Ella Olson, 92, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Johns Living Center in Jackson, Wyoming. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28 at 10 a.m. at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington, Wyoming with Pastor Vickie Kintzel officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Memorials may be made to the Korein Shrine Travel Fund in Rawlins, Wyoming. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Ella was born March 18, 1922 in McGrew, Nebraska, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Schlundt) Stricker. When Ella was 10 years old she moved to the Huntley, Wyoming area with her family. She graduated from Lyman High School in 1940. After graduation, she met E.W. (Buck) Olson and the couple were married December 11, 1943 at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL. After Buck finished his time in the service, the couple moved to Lyman, Wyoming and then to Torrington, Wyoming in 1956. She worked as a bookkeeper in the family owned Tire and Sanitation business for 30 plus years. In 2011, Ella moved to Jackson, Wyoming. She enjoyed cooking, after retirement she enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Jackson Hole, spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She also liked playing slot machines. Ella was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her three sons, Gary (Marilyn), Teddy (Jerilyn) and Larry (Deb) Olson; three grandchildren, Gina Olson, Amy Bruce and Jeff Bruce; and four great grandchildren, Malcom Allison, Myllian Allison, Gracelyn Allison and Davis Bruce. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her grandson Michael Olson; and eight siblings, Ben Stricker, Charles Stricker, Fred Stricker, Mary Stricker (an infant), Mollie Frehrichs, Maxine Detty, Mildred Brown and Mary Webb.
