Martin, Edward, Dec.8, 1931- August 26, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 28 Aug 2014 Edward Martin 82, of Melbeta passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Evangelical Free Church in Gering with Dr. Charles Bonds officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9- 8 p.m.at Gering Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the church. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Ed was born Dec.8, 1931 at home on the farm in Melbeta, to David and Amelia (Ruppel) Martin. He graduated from school in1950. Ed married Doris Johns August 8, 1954 at the Methodist Church, they made their home near Melbeta. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with family. He was a member of the church, a board member of Gering Irrigation District for 40 years, former Scotts Bluff County Commissioner and served on the NIRMA board. He is survived by his wife Doris; sons Jeffrey of Gering, Mike of Denver: daughters Marcie (Mike) Meyer of Central City and Denise Kuebler of Salem, WI; Grandchildren; Tess, Maggie and Mitch Martin, Kali (Bret) Eklund, Zach (Abby) Meyer, Kenzi (Joe) Medeiros, Karissa Meyer, Cole, Cade and Kal Kuebler; and seven great-grandchildren; sister Pauline Haas of Bellingham, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
