    3. Weigand, Olga, July 2, 1914-May 1, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 7 May 2014 Age: 99 Residence: Greeley Olga Weigand, 99, of Greeley, entered into eternal rest May 1, 2014, in Greeley. She was born on July 2, 1914, in Torrington, Conn., to Fred and Amalia (Geis) Meisinger. She had a sister, Mary; and two brothers, Ray and Harold. Olga graduated from Gill High School and attended some college classes. She was a farmer’s daughter, farmer’s wife and referred to herself as a “klutz” and a “Yankee.” More than anything she wanted to be a mommy. She met her best friend, Helen, when she was 12. As a child, she thought boys an unnecessary evil. But she really wanted to raise a family, so she prayed: “God, way off in the future, when I’m old enough to marry, please find me a good husband.” When Olga was 16 or 17 years old, she met Ed Weigand. It took him three years to convince her to marry him. They were married in 1933, and were married for 63 years. They traveled to many states, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and Nova Scotia. Olga was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greeley. She worked for JV Smith, as an alteration lady and later a retail buyer for 22 years. As a personal buyer, she traveled to Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and New York. She was an artist, did wonderful paintings and made beautiful Afghans and quilts. She belonged to Bridge Club, Ladies Aid Primary Department, and helped at baby showers. She loved being a mommy and wife. She learned to sew and sewed for the girls, and loved to cook. She often said, “That’s what it’s all about, making someone happy. That’s what makes me happy.” Olga is survived by her brother, Ray Meisinger of Perkins, Okla.; grandchildren, Brett Niblack and wife, Jennifer of Shelby, N.C., Ty Niblack and wife, Stephanie of Charlotte, N.C., Tim Towns and wife, Loretta of Owasso, Okla., and Phillip Brown of Chandler, Ariz.; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Weigand; children, Nancy Brown and Deanna Niblack; granddaughter, Tawnya Hopper; and grandson, Mark Towns. A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Allnutt Macy Chapel. Interment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Colorado, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631
