Reiter, Herman, 1927- March 24, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 26 Mar 2014 Herman Reiter, 87, of Billings, passed away Monday evening, March 24, 2014, at his home surrounded by the family he loved and who loved him so much. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doreen; three children, Carol Lawson (the late Ken), Donna (Bill) Deines and Steve Reiter; five grandchildren, Scott Deines, Bob Deines, Lisa (Deines) Lehman, Karen Brawley and Ken Lawson; and eight great-grandchildren. Herman was very proud of the fact that he was born, lived his entire life, and died on his family farm. He was the youngest of seven children born to Jacob and Eva Reiter. They have all preceded him in death. He married Doreen Crane on Aug. 13, 1948, and they farmed west of Billings together for 65 years. They spent the last 34 years traveling south in their motor home for the winter months. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W. Memorials are suggested to a charity of choice.
