If you google Immanuel Winkler wikipedia you will come across his very interesting story. He was a Bessarabian German. Click on the links at the bottom for even more information. There is a very long list of all the Lutheran parishes and pastors in the Russian Empire exactly 100 years ago in 1914. It is most informative and even includes Latvia etc. At least 10 years ago I found some information for someone who was on this electronic mailing list and who was a descendant of Pastor Winkler.
