Fox, Paul Burton, March 16, 1939-June 7, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 17 Jun 2014 Age: 75 Residence: Mesa, Ariz. Paul Burton Fox, 75, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away June 7, 2014. Paul was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on March 16, 1939, the son of Burton G. and Etta C. (Schwaegler) Fox. Paul graduated from the University of Dubuque and taught instrumental music in the Dubuque public schools. He played French Horn in the Dubuque Symphony. He completed a masters degree in music education in 1968 from Colorado State College (now UNC). In 1976, Paul became the orchestra director at Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyo. For many years he planned and coordinated the annual Wyoming State Marching Band competition and was active with the award winning Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps. Paul was a Boy Scout and his love of Scouting continued in his summer work as waterfront director and cook at a large Scout camp. In his retirement, he continued a love of travel and enjoyed Arizona, living in Sierra Vista, then in Mesa, where he was active in the choir of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Paul is survived by his sister, Lois Bartlett; nephew, Mark Bartlett (Rebecca); nieces, Karen Trevino (Daniel) and Sarah Schneider (Chad); cousins, Robert Schwaegler (Carol), Bruce Schwaegler (Sarah), and David Schwaegler; seven great-nephews, three great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Kent Bartlett; and cousin, Jerry Purvis. A memorial service has already been held.
