Bauer, Lorraine Jean, January 26, 1921 - June 13, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 16 Jun 2014 Lorraine Jean Bauer 93, died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Valle Vista Manor in Lewistown MT. Lorraine was born January 26, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN, the second daughter of Elmer and Veronika Bauer. Lorraine lived in MN, ND and OR until 1929 when the Bauer family moved to Winnett, MT and operated the E.E. Bauer Dairy. Lorraine attended school in Winnett, graduating in 1939, which according to her, was the best class ever to graduate from WHS. She never missed a Winnett High School All School Reunion and was intent on attending the upcoming one in July 2014. Lorraine graduated from Billings Polytechnic Institute where she worked part-time for the Farm Security Administration. This experience helped to launch her future career with them in Malta, Glasgow and Miles City. In 1949 she returned to Winnett where she worked for Petroleum County for 32 years. Lorraine moved to Lewistown in 1980 to help care for her mother. She called Lewistown home for more than 34 years. In addition to working at the courthouse, Lorraine volunteered at the United Methodist Church and was the advisor to the Eagle Point Theta Rho Club. She took her girls on many trips, a tradition she had experienced in Camp Fire Girls. Lorraine had a passion to write a book about her life, which was published in 2013. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Jean and her husband Bill Mullette-Bauer of Portland OR; grandsons, Ryan Reppe of San Diego, CA, Regan Reppe, Missoula; sisters, Delores Osnik of Dallas, TX, Sylvia Ward of Vale, OR. Lorraine was very fond of her 13 nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Veronika; sister, Bernice Story; brothers, Kenneth Bauer and Vernon Bauer; nephew, Kenny Bauer; nieces; Lois Roberts and Esther Ruckman. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
