Ochsner, Barbara, March 26, 1935- April 8, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 11 Apr 2014 Barbara Ochsner, 79, passed away April 8, 2014 surrounded by family at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. A private graveside memorial service for family and close friends of the family will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to either Goshen County 4-H or GO WYO Soccer. Barbara was born March 26, 1935 in Wheatland, Wyo. the daughter of the late Jacob and Esther Seibel. After her birth, the family moved to the Lingle, Wyo. area, where she would attend school. After graduating from high school she met and fell in love with Jack Ochsner. The couple was married on June 6, 1954. After they were married Jack and Barbara resided on the Ochsner family ranch north of Torrington. It was there where their children were born, Kayleen and Jacob. In 1960 they moved to the Ochsner farm east of Lingle. Barbara spent many years working alongside Jack to irrigate crops and feed cattle. She selflessly supported the family farming operation her entire life. She prepared countless meals for her family and others that would assist on the farm. Those meals were always ready promptly at noon. Barbara was the matriarch and caretaker of the Ochsner family. She found immense joy in helping raise her grandchildren, and even up to shortly before he death could be found playing soccer in the backyard with her first great-grandchild. She was met at Heaven’s gate by her daughter Kayleen Ochsner, and her parents Jacob and Esther Seibel. Survivors of her spirit and memories include her husband Jack; son, Jacob Ochsner and his wife Lisa; grandsons, Paul Newman and Colby Ochsner; granddaughter, Maggie Ochsner, and great-grandson Parker Ochsner. She is also survived by her sister, Galen Tipton and her husband Lynn, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a one-of-a-kind person, she always put her family first, and her contributions to their lives will be deeply missed.
