RE: Walter: >From my family records, I believe my Great Grandmother was Anna Elisabeth Walter who married Christian Wiederspahn. They left Colony Walter in about 1830 or 1850 for the Caucasus where my Grandmother, Katherine Margaret Wiederspahn born 10/1879 & married Jacob Hofferber born 7/1879 in both in Bethany, aka Bethanien, in Russian Konstantinovka. We may have a connection, I will try to email you what I have, but, I'll be out of town for about 10 days. You may have to remind me sometime after the 25th. Meanwhile, I think there is a Colony Walter site on Facebook. So far, I have not found any surname Walter that I can connect to. But, it's certainly a possibility from what you have said. Johan Georg Walter b:1725 from Darmstadt Hesse region, village not legible, could be Nidda?? wife Julianna ?? b:1743 Children: Peter Walter b:1751, George b:1755 and Anna Walter b:1764. We think they either moved or died, cannot find them in any publication to date. Would you please look in your databases and see if you find this family if they moved to another village? Thank you so much, Mary Jane Bolton ------------------------------ To contact the GER-VOLGA list administrator, send an email to GER-VOLGA-admin@rootsweb.com.
