Mrs. Maria Zaretzki, Tel.: 01149 711 1612 5384 (Germany) is looking for her relatives who emigrated from Russia just after World War I. Their name was Baumann and they were farmers with a large amount of property according to what her grandmother told her. Mr. Baumann was the uncle to her grandmother Helene Baumann whose married name was Zaretzki. Grandmother Helene Zaretzki died in 1994. Helene Zaretzki nee Baumann's father was Peter Baumann and it was his brother who emigrated from Russia to Canada. The family was Roman Catholic. The Baumann family lived in a Catholic village near Lugansk in present-day Ukraine. Maria Zaretzki's grandparents on the other side were Michael Bliss and Nadescha Bliss nee Kalinikos (Greek-Russian) whose mother was Anna Kalinikos. The Bliss father came from the village of Sofievka and the mother from Andreevka near Dnepropetrovsk.
