Frank, Elvera Katherine, Jan. 21, 1930-Oct. 12, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 17 Oct 2014 Age: 84 Residence: Loveland Elvera Via Frank, 84, of Loveland died on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, peacefully, at home with her family at her side. She was born on Jan. 21, 1930, to Henry and Katherine Zimmerman in Loveland. Her childhood was spent on the family farm off of Highway 402. Elvera attended school at the original Mountain View School and went on to graduate from Loveland High School which is now Bill Reed Middle School. After graduation, Via worked for attorneys, Cross & Christianson. Later she was employed at Tri-County Gas & Electric. In May 1948, Elvera married Harry Frank at the First Congregational Church. They farmed land east of Interstate 25 on Hwy 34 for many years and raised their four kids on that farm. Via spent many years helping on the farm, raising her chickens, ducks, peacocks and pheasants, keeping the books, hauling feed and doing whatever it took to keep things running. As kids grew up, she was also busy driving to piano and accordion lessons, football and baseball games, cheerleading, gymkhanas and of course the county fair. Harry and Via played softball in younger years and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing pool. They later went on group tours to Hawaii and Spain, as well as five family cruises. She always said Thank goodness we did it before the Golden Years! Elvera in survived by her sister, Virginia Horst of Loveland; one brother-in-law, Robert Frank of Holyoke, Colo., and sisters-in-law, Mildred Bunker of Greeley and Anneliese Zimmerman of Berthoud, Colo.; her children, Pamela Overmiller, Deborah Robbins and husband Dennis, Tom Frank and wife Sherri, all of Windsor, Colo., and Cindy Roorda and husband Larry of Naples, Fla. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Overmiller and wife Diane, Stacy Wells and husband Chris, Dana Englehart and husband Scott, Tyler Robbins and fiancé Veronica, Matt Robbins and T.C. Robbins, all of Loveland, J.D. Frank and wife Tiffanie and Matt Frank of Windsor, Rock Roorda and Summer Roorda of Naples, Fla.; as well as eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Frank; two brothers, Henry Zimmerman and Walter Zimmerman of Berthoud; one sister, Elnora Bernhardt of Loveland; brothers-in-law, Jake Kauffman, Adam Aschenbrenner, Elmer Frank, Martin Bunker, Bob Standage and Robert Horst; sisters-in-law, Hilda Kauffman, Irene Aschenbrenner, Ruby Standage, Nancy Frank and Bernice Frank. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at First Congregational Church in Loveland. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Loveland Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
