Minch, Eugene L. , Oct. 15, 1925- Oct. 13, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska October 14th, 2014 Eugene L. Minch, 88, of Scottsbluff, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick and Pastor Andy Griess officiating. Inurnment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff prior to the service. Memorials may be given in care of the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com Eugene was born Oct. 15, 1925 at Scottsbluff, the son of Alex and Mary (Grasmick) Minch. He received his education in Scotts Bluff County schools. He met the love of his life, Mildred Lorain Hergenrader and they were united in marriage on June 25, 1950. The couple made their home in Scottsbluff all their married life. Eugene worked for Swift & Company for 29 years and Kriz-Davis until his retirement. Eugene loved to hunt and fish and he taught Sunday School for several years. His greatest pride and joy was his granddaughter, Alex. Eugene is survived by daughter, Sharon Stricker and her husband Arthur of Scottsbluff; granddaughter, Alex Stricker of Scottsbluff; brother, Alan Minch and his wife Janice of Gering; sisters, Dorothy Diffendaffer, Arlene Whelen, and Mary Frahm all of Scottsbluff; sister-in-law, Wilma Zitterkopf of Scottsbluff; brother-in-law, Harvey Hergenrader and his wife Doris of Gering; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred on Nov. 3, 2012 and brothers-in-law Don Diffendaffer, Robert Whelen, and Ray Frahm.
