    3. Ehrlich, Douglas Jay, July 3, 1943- Sept. 6, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 1 Oct 2014 Douglas Jay Ehrlich Douglas Jay Ehrlich passed away Saturday Sept. 6, at his sister’s home in Swatera, Minn., after a long battle with cancer. He was in the care of hospice and surrounded by loving family and friends. Douglas was born July 3, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Herman and Donette (Powell) Ehrlich. Over the years, the family lived in many places, including Minnesota and North Dakota. Doug enlisted in the Air Force and was honorably discharged after his service, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. Doug held many different jobs in his lifetime, spending the greatest share as a long-haul trucker, a job which was perfect for his desire for new places and adventure. He loved anything on wheels, especially old cars and fast cars. Doug lived the last years of his life in Billings, working at several jobs, the last being for Waggoners Trucking in the office, as he could no longer drive. A celebration of Doug's life and spreading of his ashes was held at his sister's farm in Minnesota on Sept. 19, with friends and family present. Douglas is survived by his daughter, Erin; her husband, Ross; his sisters, Delpha and Annie; a brother, Michael, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents. Copyright 2014 The Billings Gazette. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
