Foos, Peggy Jo “P.J.”, March 12, 1945-Sept. 29, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 2 Oct 2014 Age: 69 Residence: Greeley Peggy Jo “P.J.” Foos, 69, of Greeley, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at North Colorado Medical Center. P.J. was born on March 12, 1945, in Macomb, Ill., to Barto and Wilma (Sturm) Babitz. P.J. and her family came to Silverton, Colo., and then moved to Florence, Colo., where she grew up. She graduated from Florence High School in 1962. She moved to Greeley in 1963, where she started college at Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado). She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in teaching. She met Gene Foos at the Columbine Bowl in Greeley and they were married on July 19, 1965, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greeley. P.J. taught at Briggsdale for a year and then later taught as a substitute teacher for Weld County District 6. She later became a dispatcher for Monfort of Colorado for many years, later Koch Trucking in Kansas. She retired due to her health. P.J. was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Greeley and a former member of Women of the Moose. She traveled to England two times and lived with a family near Fakenham, Norfork, England. P.J. was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time on her computer. She appeared in a movie, while in Silverton in 1955, with James Cagney and Ernest Borgnine, “Run For Cover.” P.J. is survived by her husband, Gene; son, Steve Foos of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren, Brittni Nicole Foos of Amarillo, Brandi Lynn Foos of Lubbock, Texas and Daniel Gene Foos of Ft. Collins; by her sisters and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3815 W. 20th St., Greeley.
