Nancy: It's unlikely that people with the surname Daniel came from the Volga River region of German-Russian settlements. In the AHSGR German Origins Project, there are no people with the surname Daniel. Since information on origins does not include 100% of the immigrants to this region, it is possible that they immigrated from this region. There are a few villages such as Schilling (founded in 1764) where no first settler information is available, and original settler information was not covered by recently published lists from the later 1766 time period. Any information would be greatly appreciated. > Nancy Wheeler > [email protected] > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
I checked an 1856 Gazetter of the World, and there is no Bloomfeld(t) in Russia or anywhere else in the world listed. Its a very complete work: volume 1 runs to 987 pages. There is a Blumenfeld in Baden, a village located 24 miles WNW of Constanz.
