Grosch, Donald David, Oct. 8, 1942- Dec. 16, 2010 Northern Wyoming News Worland, Wyoming 19 Dec 2010 WORLAND – Lifetime Worland resident Donald David Grosch, 68, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at the Washakie Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Donnie was born Oct. 8, 1942 in Worland to Alex, Jr. and Elsie (Buxmann) Grosch. He received his early education in Worland and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served his country stationed in Vietnam on a riverboat. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Upon his return from service, he worked on the Laird farms as a farmhand for several years. He was married to Joan Schmidt in 1972 in Worland. To this union was born Amanda and Tahia. Don later adopted James. The couple later divorced. Don worked as a mechanic at Crown Cork and Seal for 22 years before retiring in 2002. Following his retirement, he went to work for Oilfield Safety where he worked until 2009. Don married Jeanna Sakal in 2000 in the Bighorn Mountains. To this union little Donald Ray was born. The family continued to make their home in Worland until the time of his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts and bowling. He was an avid gardener and was always very proud of his yard. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks Lodge, A.S.L.U., and the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eddie and Bobbie; and one sister, Joyce. Don is survived by his wife, Jeanna, and their son, Donald Ray both of the family home; children James Grosch of Virginia Beach, Va., Amanda (Joey) Steed of Prescott, Ariz., Tahia Grosch of Sheridan and Debbie Eaves of Worland; sisters Janice (Clif) Franklin of Cody, Nancy (Melvin) Martin of Windsor, Colo. and Linda Sutton of Los Gatos, Calif.; grandchildren Stevie, Jessie, Hallie, Zackary, Trevor, Zachuary and Mercedes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Church in Worland with Dr. Ralph Partelow officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Washakie County Special Olympics in care of Bryant Funeral Home, P.O.
