Gayman, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wyo. A memorial has been established to the Festival of Hope at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. and briefly following the service. Sam was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Morrill, the son of Burl and Pauline (Koch) Gayman. He grew up and received his education at the Liberty School and later graduated from Morrill High School. Sam entered the U.S. Army and upon his discharge returned to Lyman, where he helped his sister and brother-in-law farm in the Huntley, Wyoming area. He married Julliet Tobin on Aug. 9, 1963 in Cheyenne, Wyo. He then started working for Holly Sugar at the Torrington factory where he worked until he retired in 1995. Sam enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his sons, Aaron Gayman of Scottsbluff and Eric Gayman of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and sister, Eva Ellis of Hanford, Calif. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; two brothers; two sisters and an infant daughter.
