Hello fellow Volga Germans!I have been searching for some more information on my Volga great-grandparents and without much luck. So far I have traced them, Pynatz/Igatz/Ignak/Ignok Seib and Adelheid Engel, to Obermonjou, which is where they departed for America in 1901. They arrived in Galveston, Texas, eventually settling in Ness City, Kansas. From there they made there way (1911) through Emerson, Manitoba to Edmonton, Alberta. They did have a son named Alex Seib (d. 1960s) who married Amelia Voit in and around Ramsay, MN. Otherwise to my knowledge, my grandfather and the rest of his siblings lived in Edmonton.According to the ship's passenger manifest, they were travelling to meet Pynatz's half-brother. I have been hoping to find more information with regard to their time in Russia - where they lived perhaps, their year of marriage, etc. As well, I'd love to locate other living relatives - perhaps this half-brother or other siblings/cousins.Thanks in advance!Jennifer > From: [email protected] > Subject: GER-VOLGA Digest, Vol 5, Issue 424 > To: [email protected] > Date: Mon, 20 Dec 2010 01:00:02 -0700 > > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
