He attended school in Morrill and graduated from Morrill High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart & love of his life, Sheron Eva Weinmaster on Sept. 17, 1961 in Mitchell. Ron was an active member of the Scottsbluff Jaycees where he and Sheron enjoyed working together on community service projects; and he especially enjoyed organizing and working with the Soap Box Derby, coaching Junior basketball and hosting Junior Olympics during the 1970's. Throughout his life, Ron worked in the car and truck repair industry, meeting the needs of many loyal customers and friends throughout the valley. He worked as a Service Manager at Kizzier Chevrolet for over 25 years, Floyd's Sales & service, and since 1999, especially enjoyed going to work at 6 a.m. at Reganis Auto Center to "get the coffee ready for the guys" when they came to work. On December 7, 2009, during a routine colonoscopy, cancer was found and Ron was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and very aggressive form of cancer. Ron was a brave, humble, and valiant warrior during this battle. He was determined to do "whatever it takes to beat this thing"Â…and he did! Ron underwent a Stem Cell Transplant on October 11, 2010. During the aggressive chemotherapy that Ron withstood prior to the transplant, his lungs were wounded in battle. Through every single step of the way, he never once complained. He blessed so many lives during his brave fight-especially the nursing professionals and the medical team on the BMT Unit at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. Ron will be remembered as gentle spirited, honest, humble, strong, caring man. His greatest accomplishment was the day he accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. The peace and joy of the Lord emanated from Ron to all who knew him. He will be spending Christmas with Jesus this year and will be greatly missed.
