Jerry, I don't really know what you mean by collatoral families, but I haven't identified the German villages of those who married into the Pickelhaupt family in my ancestral village in Russia, with the possible exception of the Langolf family. I don't know what village the Pickelhaupts came from, as they are not on the Kuhlberg lists, in a First Settlers list or Transport list. Since the name Bickelhaupt seems to be an earlier form of Pickelhaupt, I have searched on the Family History Center website many times, and find about 30 plus villages with Bickelhaupts. Almost all are in modern Hesse, Upper Bavaria and Baden. The Pickelhaupt family in Russia does appear to have close ties with a Langolf family; the latter originated in Wuertzberg Rimbach. There is a modern day Rimbach on the western edge of the Odenwald. Do you know any of the villages of your ancestors on the collatoral families? There were a number of villages in the Odenwald area. The Guide to German Parish Registers will locate a village and its parish and will give you the microfilm numbers of the Church Parish if they were filmed by the LDS. You would need to go through all the village microfilms to find the names if you don't have a village. The best way would be to contact one of the German Genealogical Resources or Archives (also listed in the book) for help to find your family. The book you would need would be Volum II of the German Parish Guides, "The Grandduchy of Baden". This book also contains a brief history aand timeline of Baden and sometime they list books of town histories that have many names in them. You can obtain this book by going to the Family Roots Publishing Co. website < www.GermanMapGuide.com >. Let me know should you need more assistance. Jerry Goertzen
