Severson, Marjorie Reaugh Seibert, Oct. 3, 1912- Dec. 13, 2010 Billings Gazette Billings, MT 15 Dec 2010 Marjorie Reaugh Seibert Severson, 98, of Billings, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Jensen Cottage on the St. John's campus. She was born on Oct. 3, 1912, at Williston, N.D., to Jessie Orville J.O. and Lucile Reaugh Seibert. Marge graduated from Williston High School in 1929. She attended the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks and then the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, graduating in 1935 with a BS degree in primary education with a minor in child welfare. She taught two years at Ray, N.D. (where her annual salary was $75.00 the first year and $81.75 the second year) and then, after attending summer school at the University of Montana, she taught primary education for four years at Baker. Marge married George S. Severson in Williston on July 1, 1941. They had two sons, Jerry and Robert Bo. In 1957, the family moved to Miles City. Marge and George then moved to Billings in 1972 and also began spending winters boating in Florida and along the Eastern seaboard. Then in 1981, they bought a condo in Fort Myers, Fla., so Marge could have a bathroom on land. Marge and George continued spending their summers in Montana, their winters in Florida and boating, all while traveling throughout the world until George's death in 1994. Marge then returned to their home in Billings, where she lived until she moved to the retirement home at Mission Ridge in Billings in 1999. She enjoyed the unassisted life style at Mission Ridge for 10 years until, in August 2009, after a fall, she moved to 24/7 assisted care at Jensen Cottage, where she lived out her life. Marge's parents and her sister, Emmeline Schubert, preceded her in death as did her husband George, who died in 1994. Marge is survived by her sons, Jerry (Holly) Severson of Bozeman, Bo (Karen) Severson of Billings; four grandsons, Scott Severson of Atlanta, Craig (Nikki) Severson of Billings, Mark (Kathy) Severson of Stratham, N.H., and Erik Severson of Seattle; granddaughter Jill Severson of Seattle and Erik and Jill's mother Janet Severson of Spokane, Wash.; three great-grandsons, Bridger, Reagan, Liam; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations can be sent to St. John's Lutheran Home, Jensen Cottage, 2504 Mission Circle, Billings, MT 59102.
