Kufeldt, Lydia Weimer, March 19, 1926- Dec. 17, 2010 Scottsbluff Star herald Scottsbluff, NE 22 Dec 2010 Lydia Weimer Kufeldt,84, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at her home at Wel-Life in Scottsbluff. Her funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the church. Friends who wish may call at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Monday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and at the church prior to the funeral services. Her obituary may be viewed online at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com where online condolences may be made. Lydia was born March 19, 1926, in Scottsbluff to Henry and Mollie (Weber) Gantz. She grew up and received her education in Minatare, and in 1943 she married Harold Weimer in Scottsbluff. She and her husband farmed in the Minatare and Mitchell areas. Harold died in 1954, and in 1957, she married Arthur Kufeldt in Gering. She had worked at Town and Country Supermarket, at Midwec for 10 years, as a purchasing agent at Lockwood's for 20 years, at the Sunmart bakery in Gering for a time, and for 11 years at the Scottsbluff Senior Center, until retiring six years ago. Lydia was a wonderful cook, butter ball noodle soup, special cabbage burgers and rye bread being her specialties. She also enjoyed ceramics, embroidery and gardening. She was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Church, the ladies guild at the church and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (Ron) Hettinger of Mitchell; sons, Terry Lee (Lorraine) Weimer of Moses Lake, Wash., and Russell A. (Paula) Weimer of Scottsbluff; stepson, Arthur (Neva) Kufeldt of Sugarland, Texas; sister, Frieda Weimer of Scottsbluff; and special friend, Wauneta Green of Gering. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ron (Lori) Hettinger, Marcy (Kevin) Miller, Ali (Eric) LaFontaine, Angie (Steven) Hightower, Kristen and Kendra Kufeldt, ten great-grandchildren and four great great grandchil-dren. Her parents; both husbands; brothers Al Miller, Henry Miller and John Miller; sisters Mary Gorr, Rose Follis, Pauline Hort, Esther Ehler, Ruth Meter and infant sister Mollie Gantz; and a grandson Tyler Wilson Weimer preceded her in death.
