Lind, John, Sr., Oct. 30, 1885 -- Nov. 6, 1952 The Wauseon (Ohio) Republican, Nov. 13, 1952 John Lind, Sr., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lind, was born on Oct. 30, 1885 at Saratof, Russia. He was baptised by a Lutheran pastor in his early infancy. After he recieved instruction in the Word of God, he was confirmed in the year 1900 in the Lutheran Church at Saratof. He was united in holy matrimony with Eva Catherine Lind on February 22, 1911. After a few years they left Russia and came to our country on March 3rd, 1913. They lived in Wauseon for two years and then moved to Kansas, near Alexander. After eight years they moved back to Wauseon into the same home they lived in when they first arrived here. For the last 26 years he has been an employee of the New York Central Railroad. He has been a very faithful member of our church, and elder of our church for the last three years and served other offices during his church membership. The Lord called him out of our midst very suddenly on Thursday afternoon. He suffered a heart attack. He reached the age of 67 years and 7 days. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Eva Catherine; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Willey of Palo Alto, Calif., Mrs. Pauline Scott of Findlay, Ohio, and Mrs. Ruth Fraker of Delta, Ohio; three sons, John Lind Jr., Alexander Lind and Edward Lind of Wauseon, Ohio; four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Two sons and one daughter have preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted from the Emmaus Ev. Lutheran Church, Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Walter E. Meyer officiating. Interment was made in the Bayes Cemetery.
