Meeske, Henry, Nov. 6, 1913- Nov. 6, 1913 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, NE 6 May 2011 Henry Meeske, 97, passed away early Saturday morning, April 30, 2011, at the Heritage Estates Care Facility in Gering. Funeral Services for Henry Meeske will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial, with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Imperial Public Library or donor's choice. (Greim) Meeske at the family farm near Champion, Neb. He attended school in the valley and graduated from the University of Nebraska Ag Farm Short Course in 1934. He married Dorothy K. Popp Aug. 27, 1939, at Emanuel Lutheran Church near Champion. They lived on a farm in the Champion valley where the couple farmed and raised cattle. Henry was engaged in farming all his life and was a long-time member of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service, Nebraska Cattlemen, and the Nebraska Wheat Grower's Associations. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. Survivors include his son, Kenneth (Ruby) Meeske of Paris, Texas; daughter, Alisa (Dean) Rindels of Scottsbluff; grandsons, Lloyd (Lynette) Meeske, Galen (Audrey) Meeske, Karl (Karra) Meeske all of Champion, Levi Meeske of Atlanta, Ga., and Curtis Rindels of Boulder, Colo.; granddaughters, Gina Blocher of Kalispell, Mont. and Kara (Shelby) McCracken of Scottsbluff and numerous great-grandsons and great-granddaughters; sister, Leona (Meeske) Albin, of Foosland, Ill. and brother-in-law, Victor Gestring of Imperial. Preceding Henry in death were his parents; wife, Dorothy in1991; daughter, Judy; son, Lloyd; sisters, Pauline Meeske, and Irene Gestring
