    3. Ostwalt, Harold , June 16, 1922- May 1, 2011 Billings Gazette Billings, MT 4 May 2011 Harold Ostwalt WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — The Lord took Harold's hand on May 1, 2011, ushering him home. On June 16, 1922, Henry and Mollie Ostwalt of Laurel rejoiced in the birth of their third child, Harold. They were blessed with 10 children, even five boys and five girls. Harold grew up on the family farm, attended the Laurel public schools and graduated from Laurel High School in 1940. After graduation, he enrolled at Eastern Montana College. His academic endeavors where put on hold by World War II. Entering the Army in November of 1942, becoming a truck driver, he served his country for three years and four months, with 25 months spent in the European Theater. After being discharged, he returned to college, where he graduated in 1950, with a degree in elementary education. He met the love of his life, Almeda Fox. They married in Laurel on Sept. 18, 1948. They moved to Columbus to start his first teaching job, followed by teaching jobs in Popular, Harlowton and Helena. Harold retired from teaching in 1970. With summers open, he started insurance adjusting with the 1955 hail storm in Billings. Working as a storm adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau afforded Harold and Almeda opportunities to visit many parts of the United States. He and his bride enjoyed 62-plus years of marital bliss. Harold and Almeda adopted two children, Ken and Diana, in 1962 and 1963 respectively. He reflected on the fact that his retirement years exceeded the years he worked as a teacher. In retirement, he continued as an insurance adjuster. When the traveling no longer appealed to him, he turned to other passion, spending hours in his yard. Harold is welcomed into God's presence by his parents, Henry and Mollie; his brother, Henry Jr. and his wife Eleanor; sister Helen Southworth and her husbands Henry "Hank" Foos, Jr. and Kenny Southworth; brother-in-law Alex "Shorty" Fox and his father- and mother-in-law J. George and Mollie Fox. He will sorely be missed by his wife Almeda; son Ken Fox; daughter Diana (John) Carlson; sisters and brothers Martha (Harold) Iverson, Esther Fox, John (Dorothy) Ostwalt, Conrad (Miriam) Ostwalt, Betty (Melvin) Aman, Judy (Clint) Frank and Sonny (Dianna) Ostwalt; granddaughter Felicia (Shawn) Frisch; and grandson Corey Fox; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Jaiden; and many nephews and nieces and cousins. Harold's family is deeply appreciative of the dedicated professionals who made his journey one of dignity, peace and comfort.
