    3. I can find the 1891 book but I don't know how to read the records to see if her birth record is recorded there. Katherina Elizabeth Prinz b. June 1, 1891 Lauwe, Samara. Are the Lauwe records even included in these? Can anyone tell me how to read the months? Thank you. Elaine Sharp

    3. Oh well, nice to know these are not the records we need (that's what you get when you cannot read every language in the world). Hopefully, we can find someone who has the Lauwe census records that can do a lookup for us. I believe it is just one or two generation gap we need because we do not know which son of the son Michael descended from and being a student, Mike's budget does not allow him to purchase these records. Would be nice to complete this family back to Germany also. From other research sent to us or we found online, we do have the family back to Andreas but need to fill in this gap. Thanks. Elaine

    3. Elaine: That doesn't appear to be a collection of German-Russian village church records, but rather churches that I don't think are German Russian. Some of the titles translate to "Resurrection Cathedral", "All Saints Cemetery", "Edinoverie Kazan Mother of God Church", "Alexander Nevsky Church", etc. They don't appear to look like records kept by the Lutheran church pastors that I have for Dobrinka & Galka, but they could be Catholic church records. I don't know how Russian Orthodox churches named their churches, but I suspect that is what these records are. The records for Dobrinka are in German up through about 1892, and I think that's the case for other villages. These records are all in Russian. 3. These are Russian Orthodox Church records, the FHC records state. The Russian archives have allowed fairly free access to LDS for Orthodox records, but little for Evangelical Lutheran and Roman Catholic.
