Green, Norma Jean (Yakel), April 2, 1933- Feb. 24, 2011 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, NE 28 Feb 2011 Norma Jean (Yakel) Green, 77, of Gering, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in Norma's honor in care of Prairie Haven Hospice. Norma Jean was born April 2, 1933, in Scottsbluff to Jacob and Anna Marie (Kaiser) Yakel. She received her education and graduated from Scottsbluff High School. She married Donald H. "Blackie" Green on March 13, 1955, in Bayard. She was a lifetime member of the Zion Evangelical Church. Survivors include her husband, Donald Green of Gering; sons, Ron (Becky) Green of Gering and Rod (Val) Green of Bellevue, Neb.; daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Flower of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Brian Green, Tyler Green, Katie Green, Karli Green, Colton Flower, Payton Flower; step-grandchildren, Linsey (Zach) Smith and Cody Flower; great-granddaughter, Berkley Smith; sisters, Florence Rau and Alvina Kufeldt; and brother, William Yakel. Her parents; sisters, Nettie Grassmick, Betty Eby, Tillie Rexus, Katherine Zier, Caroline Rexus, Rose Bolzer, Catherine Welsch, Irene Loose; and brothers, Ed Kling and Jake Yakel preceded her in death.
