Schreiner, Catherine ‘Cathy, Feb. 13, 1940- Feb. 26, 2011 Billings Gazette Billings, MT 1 Mar 2011 LAUREL — Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, (Oma), Catherine "Cathy" Schreiner, 71, of Laurel, went to be with her Lord on Feb. 26, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 13, 1940, to Gideon and Lena Suworo. Cathy came to the United States from Germany in 1952 with her grandmother, mother, aunts, their families, as well as her brother and sister. In 1957, she met David Schreiner, the love of her life. On Feb. 13, 1960, they married. In their union, they had two daughters: Tina Harkness of Laurel and the late Heidi Ray of Laurel. Cathy loved to cook, have family gatherings for every special occasion, do things for others and always just be there to help. Slumber parties at the house and making ice cream sundaes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved going to church to praise her Lord. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Laurel. She was a member of the Dorcas Society, and was a teacher for Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her father, Gideon Suworo; her stepfather, Emil Wolf; her mother, Lena; her sister, Marty; and her beloved daughter, Heidi. She is survived by her husband. David of Laurel; her daughter, Tina Harkness (Todd) of Laurel; her brother, Gideon Wolf of Big Timber; four grandchildren, David Gordon of Billings, Crystal Torres (Jonas) of Laurel and Ashley and Dirk Ray of Laurel; one step-granddaughter, Jesse Harkness of Billings; five great-grandchildren, Davin, Katelynn, Brandon, Kane and Kason; two step-great-grandchildren, Jonas and Piper. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. This is not goodbye. We will all meet again in heaven, so we will say goodnight, we love you. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at First Congregational Church in Laurel, with interment in Laurel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel.
