Schledewitz, Cheryl Lee, July 23, 1946- Jan. 16, 2011 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, NE 21 Jan 2011 MITCHELL - Cheryl Lee Schledewitz, 64, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at her home peacefully in her sleep. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Jones Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 19 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date. Cheryl was born July 23, 1946, in Scottsbluff to James Edward and Nata (Senteney) Haddix. She grew up and attended school in Mitchell. Cheryl and Richard C. Schledewitz were united in marriage on Nov. 21, 1962, at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff. Their only child, Jeffrey R. Schledewitz was born September 1963. Cheryl and Richard lived on various farms in the rural Mitchell area over the past 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she and her sisters had a special closeness. Cheryl was an avid reader and a Husker fan. She also enjoyed taking a day trip to Prairie Winds. Survivors include her husband Richard; son, Jeff (Rhonda) Schledewitz of Gering; grandchildren, James Schledewitz (fiancé Joanna Kochenower) and Sydni Schledewitz; sisters, Barbara Blanco, Dorothy (Ernest) Eskam all of Mitchell, Charlene Needham of Arvada, Colo. and Anita Fey of Scottsbluff; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Delores (Delbert) Vogel, Shirley Huck, Robert (Sharon) Schledewitz and Dianna (James) Lashley, as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents as well as her father and mother-in-law, Conrad and Katherine Schledewitz.
