Weigum, Wilbert "Willie" Marvin, Nov. 22, 1937- Jan. 7, 2011 Billings Gazette Billings, MT 9 Jan 2011 GLENDIVE — Wilbert "Willie" Marvin Weigum, age 73, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Avis Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Willie was born on Nov. 22, 1937, in Halliday, N. D., the son of Fred and Hertha (Frank) Weigum. Willie was raised and educated in western North Dakota attending various schools before graduating from New Town High School in New Town, N. D., with the class of 1956. Willie then attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N. D., before moving to Glendive where he was worked for the Texaco Bulk Plant and attended Dawson Community College, graduating in 1961 with an Associates Degree in Business. While living in Glendive, Willie met Gladys Malmin and they were united in marriage on June 21, 1959. Willie started his career as a public accountant when he was employed with Vern G. Paulson, P.A. from 1961 to 1971. In 1972, he and Erv Schimke formed the partnership Schimke & Weigum which they ran together until 1993 when Erv passed away. Willie then turned their partnership into Weigum & Associates which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1997. Willie loved and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed researching history, gardening, and going to Makoshika State Park. In his spare time, Willie was either outside hunting and fishing or inside watching football and baseball, and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Willie was a member of the Glendive Moose Lodge, Glendive Jaycees, Zion Lutheran Church, Cottonwood Country Club and Glendive Noon Lions. He also sat on various boards; Dawson County High School, Grandview Retirement Home, Dawson County Public Library, Miss Montana Pageant and was a councilman for the City of Glendive. Willie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Gladys Weigum of Glendive; son, Brian (Frances) Weigum of Glendive; daughters, Shelly (Jim) Christianson of Glendive, Carol (Mike) Maynard of Helena, Mont., DeAnn (Doug) Johnson of Gilbert, Ariz.; three sisters, Betty (Melvin) Kegley of New Carlisle, Ind., Donna (George) Quast of Hazen, N. D., Jo Ann (Norman) Goosen of Bloomfield, Mont.; one aunt, Ruth Horning of Glendive; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Jarrod, Kali, Kori, Jennifer, Riann, Haeley, and Hanna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
