    3. Yes they are different colonies. But as the website indicates Kana was also known as Kaneau. I don't know how to be any clearer? Suggestions? My ancestors first settled in Kaneau which is very close to Katharinenstadt and is in Pleve's first settlers book volume 2. It was established in 1767. Katharinenstadt and Kaneau were way north of the village on the web page below. The web page below lists Kaneau as an alternative spelling for Kana but it is a different village established in 1860.
