Rein, Donald F., March 31, 1936- Jan. 6, 2011 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, NE 13 Jan 2011 Donald F. Rein, 74, of Gering, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at his home. A family and friends gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Cremation will be at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff and his cremains will be scattered at a later time. A memorial has been established in care of the family. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com Don was born March 31, 1936, at Minatare to Fred Jr. and Anna (Becker) Rein. At the age of five, his mother, Anna passed away and he was raised by Evelyn (Stumf) Rein. Don grew up in Minatare and graduated from the Minatare High School. In September 1955, he married Norma J. Hauff in Scottsbluff. Don was first employed at Lockwood Manufacturing before beginning his career in the trucking business. He later owned and operated Don Rein and Sons Trucking, expanding his fleet to 17, before ill health forced him to retire. He enjoyed fishing and gambling and was an avid Husker, Bronco, and Stock Car Racing fan. Survivors include his special angel and private nurse, Corlis Koros; son and daughter-in-law, Greg-ory and Clair Rein of Scottsbluff and their children, Caitlin, Cody, Camryn and Keegan; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Annette Rein of Mitchell and their daughter, Chelsey; sisters, Loretta Long of Billings, Mont. and Patricia Hort of Scottsbluff; numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney Rein.
