Dave: I read your inquiry on the Ger-Volga site. I am also related to Kindsvater and have done considerable research on that line. My great grandmother was a Kindsvater born in 1844 and I have her line back to Hartmann Kindsvater (born 1723). Hartmann was the original and only Kindsvater to settle in the Volga, so all Volga Kindsvaters can be traced back to him. I don't have any record of a Kindsvater going to Kana. My cousin, Harold Kindsvater and his wife, Linda have more data on Kindsvater since they visited cousins in Germany that moved to Germany instead of the U.S.A. They researched in German Parish records and have ancestors back to 1586 in Pfalz Germany. You might want to contact them at < [email protected] >. My ancestrol line descends from Hartmann's son, Philipp and Harold's line is from Werner. The last I know of Daniel's line, they stayed in Dietel. Hartmann had seven sons. Years ago, I was in contact with an Adam Kindsvater in Germany and have his information. I would be interested to see what you have. Jerry Goertzen AHSGR-CCC, Fresno, CA
