As a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, speech-language pathologist, and friend, Peg revealed the light and love of God and His son Jesus Christ through her faith and tireless service to others. Her giving spirit was realized through her countless acts to those around her. Peg was truly selfless with her time. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. this Wednesday, July 23, at First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Scottsbluff, serving as an Elder, Deacon, Faith Mate, and choir member. After graduating from Scottsbluff High School, Peg studied Speech Therapy at Kearney State College receiving both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree. Peg met her husband Maurie at Kearney State College and they were married on June 14, 1969. They had recently celebrated 45 years of extraordinary marriage. Peg was a speech-language pathologist at Regional West Medical Center for 34 years. During her profession she improved the communication skills of countless patients that had suffered brain trauma, as well as children with communication disorders. She also co-founded Brainstorm, a support group for victims of stroke and their families. Her uplifting spirit always brought hope to the recovery process. Peg taught those around her to not waste an opportunity to help others. Peg served in many capacities including her church, Scouting, P.E.O, Foster Grandparent Board, and as a TeamMates mentor and statewide Strengths Ambassador Team member. Peg lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Through her interactions with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends she helped others see their own strengths and realize their full potential. She nurtured a sense of love, forgiveness, peace, and hope. Peg is survived by her husband Maurie; children, Jennifer (Mike) Currens of Eagan, Minn.; Matthew (Jami) Deines of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; and Rebecca (Khimson) Lam of Grapevine, Texas; sisters, Connie (Dennis) Kramer of Gering, and Pat Heidecker of Imperial, Mo.; grandchildren, Mara, Ben and Elizabeth Currens, Emerson and Bailey Deines, and Dylan Lam; brother-in-law, Bruce (Dottie) Deines of Omaha; stepfather, Ruben Haun, Paul Idaho. They celebrated 67 years of marriage until his passing on Aug. 26, 2012. Hazel worked part time at Greeley-Evans School District 6 as a cook for over 20 years. She was also a homemaker who loved to sew, square dance, make jewelry, decorate cakes, play cards and other table games. She also had a love of baking and entered many baking contests. Adler, Mollie, April 30th, 1914- July 10, 2014 The Coloradoan Fort Collins, Colorado 20 Jul 2014 Mollie Adler completed her earthly journey on July 10, 2014 after 100 years and 2 months. She was born in Oshkosh Wisconsin on April 30th, 1914 to Philip and Catherine Schneider - the 8th of 12 children. As a child she lived in Brush, Gilcrest, and Fort Morgan, CO. She married Harry Adler in 1931 in Fort Morgan. After years of farming, which included living in Sidney Montana for a time, they moved to Denver, where Mollie worked in the food service industry. Shortly after her husbands death in 1972, she moved to Fort Collins to be near her daughter and grandchildren. In 1997 she suffered a debilitating stroke and had been a resident of Fort Collins Health Care Center since. She is preceded in death by her husband, sons Harry, Jr. and Everett Sonny, daughter Alma Jean Tucker, and grandson Jim Tucker. She is survived by one sister, Helen Konrade, grandchildren Molly (Nick) Lecheler, Glen (Karrie) Tucker, Keith (Holly) Adler, and Vena Adler. Her great-grandchildren Nicole Lecheler, Tony (Jennifer) Lecheler, Amy (Ray) Lucero, Bobby Adler, Abigail Adler, and Ryan Adler and her great-great grandchildren Kathleen, Molly, and Samantha Lucero and baby Aubrey Lecheler. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Shirley was born November 7, 1932 in Bayard, NE to John Schmall, Jr. and Rosie (Hoffman) Schmall. She received her education and graduated from Bayard High School in 1950. She married Walter Schlager on December 10, 1950 and to this union were born four children: Leland, Rick, Terri, and Wally. They lived and farmed north of Scottsbluff for over 45 years. Shirley was very active in her church; being a long time member of the Friendly Circle, choir, and German choir. She was a member of the BPO Does Drove. She was very musically inclined and played piano, organ, and accordion. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening, attending Dutch hops, and spending time with her many friends. Shirley is survived by her children Leland (Debra) Schlager, Rick (Karen) Schlager, Terri (Dale) Beckmann and Wally (Becki) Schlager; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Walter; parents, grandparents; brother, Larry Schmall; sisters-in-law, Mary Schmall and Donna Stricker; and brother-in-law, Ronald Stricker preceded her in death.
Solomon Frank March 8, 1920 — July 3, 2014 “A Grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart.” Solomon Frank was born on March 8, 1920, in Walla Walla to John David and Elizabeth Frank, Germans who emigrated from the Volga region of Russia (Kautz). Sol was one of nine children raised in a home that valued faith, love of family and friends. He lived his life fulfilling each one of those values by being a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Sol graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1939 and spent the majority of his life working in the grocery business, including both his father’s grocery store “Frank’s Grocery and Market” and the well-known “Melrose Market” on the corner of Melrose and Division streets in Walla Walla. Sol married Helen Peggy Schiffman on May 31, 1941, and they had two children, Nancy Dale and Thomas Leonard Frank. For Sol, “Family was considered the circle of strength, founded on faith, joined in love, and kept by God.” Sol honored this belief daily and always lived life to the fullest with a twinkle in his eye and a smile that warmed your heart. After high school, Sol served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a seaman first class in April 1946. Sol and his family returned to Walla Walla, where he continued to work as owner of the Melrose Market and became known in the community for his famous family recipe of German “pep sausage.” Later in life, Sol and Helen moved to Redwood City, Calif., where he co-owned a business with his brother-in-law, Dale Schiffman. Upon retirement, Sol and Helen returned to the Walla Walla Valley in 1984 to be closer to family and friends. Sol was an active member of the College Place Presbyterian Church, Walla Walla Elk’s Lodge, and enjoyed volunteering at Hospice and the Christian Aid Center. Sol is survived by his son, Tom (Paula) Frank of Surprise, Ariz.; son-in-law, Dean Blize of Walla Walla; one sister, Freda (Tom) Wilhelm of Walla Walla; two brothers, Dave (Clara) Frank of Stallings, N.C., and John (Dorothy) Frank of Garden Grove, Calif.; five grandchildren, Peggy (Mike) Needham, Jeff (Jocelyn) Blize, Kristie (Brandon) Waggoner, Corinne (Christian) Watson, John David and Ethan Frank; 10 great-grandchildren; and special friend and companion, Jean Stiller. Sol was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; daughter, Nancy; sisters, Betty, Mollie, Katheryn; and brothers, Carl and Harold Frank. Weber, Carol K., August 28, 1944- July 9, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 13 Jul 2914 Carol K. Weber of Lincoln and longtime resident of Scottsbluff, passed away on July 9, 2014. Carol was born August 28, 1944 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Hank and Marie Ehrhart. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1962. She married George Weber and they had one son, Jason. In 1977, she opened Ample Annies, a clothing store for women. After the store closed, she was employed by Harbourton Mortgage and then retired from Aurora Loan Services in 2012. Carol loved cooking, reading, quilting and loved the Colorado aspen in the fall. She was active in many civic organizations in the community throughout her career as a businesswoman. Carol is survived by her son, Jason (Lana) Weber; brother, Jim (Janet) Ehrhart; grandson, Brendan Gillming; close friend, George Weber; and nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and most recently, her brother, Ed Ehrhart. Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Bechthold, Darlene C., November 5, 1932- July 3, 2014 The Coloradoan Fort Collins, Colorado 10 Jul 2014 Darlene C. Bechthold was born on November 5, 1932 in Garden City, Kansas to the late Ella and Henry Rahm and departed this life at the age of 81 on July 3, 2014. At an early age, Darlene accepted Christ as her savior. She attended Front Range Baptist Church where she participated in Sunday school and church services and greatly enjoyed hearing her pastor give his message. Darlene loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darlene also enjoyed traveling and went on several cruises, as well as visited many places in the United States with her family and friends. Darlene enjoyed many activities. She was a member of the Germans From Russia Society, loved to square dance and was very involved in the Senior Center activities. On August 21, 1949, she married Richard Burditt and to this union three daughters were born; Debra, Beverly and Barbara. Darlene moved to Colorado after the death of her first husband and made her home in Fort Collins. In October, 1987 she married Elmer Bechthold. They enjoyed their time together traveling and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands. She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Charles) Givens, Beverly Lawrence and Barbara Burditt; grandchildren, Antwyon Traneka Givens, Bobbie Jo Jordan, Kimberly Baulete, Melissa Richardson, Sachell Muniz; great-grandchildren, LaUna and Keagan Baulete, Ava, Aubree and Autumn Richardson; two brothers, Melvin and Jim Rahm; sister, Rachel Dinges; along with many nieces, nephews and good friends. Leonhardt, Larry Duane , Oct. 24, 1934- Jul. 5, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Monatana 9 Jul 2014 Larry Duane Leonhardt, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was 79. Larry was born on Oct. 24, 1934, in Gering, Neb., to Henry and Viola Loose Leonhardt. After completing high school, Larry attended business college for a brief time before entering the service. He was stationed in the U.S. Coast Guard in New York. Larry married Elizabeth Ruth Kelly on Dec. 17, 1955, in New York City. On March 3, 1957, their first daughter, Susan Elizabeth, was born. Lori Ann was added to the family on May 15, 1958. Twin boys Larry Charles and Gary Duane were born on Sept. 22, 1961, and Michael Henry, their fifth child, was born on March 23, 1964. After his family, Larrys greatest passion was his work. He was well-known for his work with genetics in developing and breeding a unique line of cattle, Shoshone Angus. His goal was to succeed in making cattle better for the common rancher. He was also known for his straight rows and great crops. Larry was inducted into the Angus Hall of Fame, served as a board member for the University of Maryland, past president of the Beet Growers Association and, at the time of his death, was on the board of Sidon Canal Irrigation District. Larry is survived by his wife Elizabeth; daughters Susan (Jeff) and Lori (Joel); sons Larry (Melinda), Gary (Kathy) and Michael (JoDawn); 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and counting. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon (Alex) McDougal and Mary Ann Hanny and sister-in-law Bobi Jo Leonhardt. Larry was preceded in death by his father Henry, mother Viola, brother Charles and brother-in-law Frank Hanny. A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 10, at 7:00 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Lovell. Fink, Emil, May 20, 1927- Jul. 6, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 9 Jul 2014 Emil Fink was born in the small town of Kane Wyoming on May 20th 1927 to John D. and Emilia (Bendenwald) Fink. He died in Lovell Wyoming on July 6th 2014 at the respectable age of 87. Emil grew up in Lovell and graduated from Lovell High School. He married his sweet wife Yvonne (Wambeke) on January 12th 1952 and had three children. Emil worked as a farmer for most of his life and worked for the city of Lovell for ten years before he retired. Emil had a passion for FFA and loved to work in his garden. He was known for having a green thumb. He was an avid reader and a good provider for his family. Knowing Emil was knowing you were in the presence of a good man who was quick to smile and make you laugh. Emil was preceded in death by his parents John D. and Emilia Fink, his wife Yvonne, and his brothers John, Carl, Gottlieb, Sol, Daniel, and William. He is survived by his brother Alfred, as well as his sisters Marie Doerr, and Bertha Gernant. He is also survived by his children Patricia Mettlin, Mike Fink, and Michelle Shannor. Emil is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. The services will be at the Lutheran church in Lovell on July 10th 2014. The viewing will be in the Fellowship Hall at the church at 9 am and the service in the chapel at 10. Burial will follow immediately afterwards at the Lovell Cemetery.

Esther was born May 20, 1918, to George and Annamarie Thoutt in Greeley. She married Adam Geisick on Jan. 24, 1937. He passed away July 18, 1981. Her two favorite loves were her faith and her family. Esther enjoyed fishing, family dinners, working in her flower garden, and ceramics. Her home was always opened to anyone who wanted to stop by and would always have a homemade treat for them to eat. She also enjoyed coffee with her circle of friends. She was also a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Greeley. Esther is survived by her children, Lillian (Bill) Hoffman, LeRoy Geisick, and Carla Geisick. She is also survived by four grandsons, five granddaughters, 10 great-grandsons, 11 great-granddaughters, five great-great-granddaughters and two great-great-grandsons; and by sister, Irene Weigel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Geisick; son, Larry Adam Geisick; brothers, Carl and Reinholdt Thoutt; and sisters, Charlotte (Laddie) Owens, Amelia (Millie) Feit and Lydia Repp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services with services starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Bauer, Gloria J., Jan. 23, 1941-July 3, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 8 Jul2014 Age: 73 Residence: Eaton Gloria J. Bauer went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was born Jan. 23, 1941, to Clyde and Adeline (Decker) Chambers in Denver. She lived her early life in the Commerce City area and graduated from Adams City High School in 1959. After high school, Gloria attended beauty college. In May of 1960, she married Ronald Geist of Denver. They moved to Cheyenne, where they lived for about 8 years. Gloria then married Jack Bauer, the love of her life, on Feb. 12, 1970. Soon after they married they moved to Greeley. They have made the Greeley/Eaton area their home ever since. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandma and homemaker. She kept busy with six children and their friends who also called her Mom. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Gloria was always open for a fun night of playing cards and telling stories. She could often be found in her yard tending to her flower gardens. She enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and snow birding during the winter months. Together, she and Jack visited all lower 48 states and have vacationed in Hawaii, Mexico and Caribbean cruises. Gloria was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She volunteered countless hours doing fundraisers for the Wounded Warriors Project and helped with an annual VFW poker run. She will be remembered for her no talent shows that she co-chaired for many years. She enjoyed crochet and studying her Bible faithfully. Katherine will be remembered as a loving grandmother and will also be missed by her daughters and their spouses, along with all of her nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Mace, Ruth Fox, Jan. 29, 1925- July 3, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 6 Jul 2014 Ruth Fox Mace passed peacefully on July 3, 2014. Born in Laurel on Jan. 29, 1925, Ruth was a child of immigrant parents. She was proud of her family for overcoming hardship and for their loyalty as citizens of the United States, their adopted country. Living in Boston and San Francisco during World War II, she, like many women of her generation, aided the war effort, working as a shipyard clerk. After the war, Ruth returned home to Laurel and married her husband Bob. They were avid square dancers and shared many happy memories with numerous friends around the world who danced with them. Ruth enjoyed a 30-year career in Laurel working for Cenex Harvest States. Ruth loved to travel, and often proudly proclaimed that she had visited every state. Also an ardent reader, she stealthily checked a certain page in each book she borrowed from the library to avoid accidentally reading it again later. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. They became the most important people in her world, and she was looking forward to the arrival of her first great-grandchild in October. She very much loved her nieces and nephews and was known as Aunt Ruthie or the "kissing aunt." Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents George and Eva Fox, brothers Art, Ed, Dan, Alec, Alex and Jake, sisters Clara, Amelia, Emma and Julia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Karen Mace; her grandchildren Ann Mace (Ken) and Joseph Mace; brother and sister-in-law George and Helen Fox; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their loving spouses and children. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Michelotti-Sawyers (1001 Alderson Ave, Billings) with graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Lind, Raymond, July 29, 1925 - June 27, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 1 Jul 2014 Hastings, NE Raymond Lind passed away on June 27, 2014 in Hastings, Nebraska. He was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on July 29, 1925 to Bill and Effie Lind. He attended Sunny Slope Grade School, a country school outside of Mitchell and graduated from Morrill High School in 1943. He served in the military beginning in July of 1945 through December, 1946 and was assigned to the Adjutant Generals office in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Raymond then joined First National Bank in Morrill. In 1949, Raymond began farming south of Lyman, Nebraska. He married Mary Louise (Ike) Lippincott in 1948. They retired from farming in 1992 and moved to Scottsbluff and later to Hastings to be closer to their family. Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary of 66-years, children, Steven (Diana), Kearney; daughters Beth (Ron) Ganer, Omaha; Judy (Martin) Hoch, Hastings; grandchildren Lindsey (Sam) Reznicek, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Jeff Hoch, Omaha; and Zachery and Tyler Lind, Kearney, and two great- granddaughters, Allison and Claire Reznicek. He is survived by brothers, Riney of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jim of Torrington, Wyoming, Don of Denver, Colorado, Wayne of Maricopa, Arizona and sister, Helen VanWyngarden of Denver, Colorado. Raymond was an active member of the Nebraska Sugar Beet Growers Association serving as president for five years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #10 of Morrill, Nebraska and First United Methodist Church of Scottsbluff along with many other organizations. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be given to The Farm and Ranch Museum of Gering, Nebraska or the donors choice. A Celebration of Life Service and reception will be held later this summer in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Wiedeman, David A., January 13, 1948- June 22, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 29 Jun 2014 ALBUQUERQUE N.M. David A. Wiedeman was born was January 13, 1948 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the age of 66 at the Veterans Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. David graduated from Jackson High School in 1966 and attended school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he played football and baseball and was in track. He was very proud of his children and his grandchildren, always helping coach their sports teams. As well, David loved to go fishing and camping, loved wood carving, loved to go to the casino with his wife and he loved to play guitar and paint. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and the New York Yankees. David was of Lutheran faith and was married at Trinity Lutheran Church November 9, 1971. He was a commercial Construction Superintendent who helped build several buildings in, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and throughout the southwest. He helped build the St. Stephens High School in St. Stephens, WY, some of the buildings at CWC in Riverton, WY, the gym in Jeffrey City, WY and the Riverton Library in Riverton. David was preceded in death by his father, Fred Wiedeman; grandparents, Alec and Marie Groskop, Dave and Margaret Wiedeman; in-laws, Al and Billie Wilcox as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and two nieces, Moeniqua Produit and Michelle Allan. David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Wiedeman of Edgewood, NM; his son, Jason Wiedeman of Odessa, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris Lovato along with twin granddaughters, Isabelle and Callie Lovato of Edgewood, NM; his mother, Betty Wiedeman of Riverton, WY; sister and brother-in-law, Fredella and Richard Busch of Riverton, WY, along with their children, Spencer Busch of Riverton, WY, and Shawna and Tim Rice of North Dakota along with their twin sons, Seth and Dalton Rice; his sister-in-law, Barbara Fournier and family; brothers-in-law, Larry Wilcox and family and Terry Wilcox and family. He also has a very special dog, Alley and a very special cat Willie. There will be no service as per his request. Burial will take place at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Helzer, Bert (Burdette), Jan. 27, 1938-June 22, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 27 Jun 2914 Age: 76 Residence: Greeley Bert (Burdette) Helzer, was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Henry and Christine (Hahn) Helzer. He passed away June 22, 2014, at NCMC in Greeley. Bert married, the love of his life, Colleen, in Greeley, and they were blessed with 45 years of marriage. Bert graduated in 1956 from Wiggins High School, where he played football. As a young man he held jobs in the oil fields of Wyoming and also as a cross country truck driver. He entered the Army in 1961, and after completing his military service, he was honorably discharged in 1963. Upon completion of his military service, Bert returned to Greeley and began his career repairing cars and fostering his hobby of building race cars. He operated a Philips 66 service station and then opened his business, Helzer Automotive Repair. Bert continually received praise from his customers for his ability to diagnose and repair any vehicle. He had a passion for understanding the workings of anything mechanical. After selling his business, he managed the automotive repair shop and the tire department at Big R of Greeley. Prior to his retirement, he was a General Manager for Shell Oil, managing the Jiffy Lube in Greeley. Throughout Berts career, he received multiple awards recognizing his superior customer service and outstanding sales at both Big R and Shell Oil. Bert was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, and as a season ticket holder, he rarely missed attending home games. Attending Bronco home games was a special guys ritual for Bert, his son-in-law and grandson. Bert also loved to travel and was always ready for an adventure. Bert and Colleen took many trips to Hawaii and across the continental United States. They also traveled extensively throughout Europe, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. He especially enjoyed the family cruises to Hawaii, the Mediterranean, Mexico and the Caribbean, where he and Colleen were also joined by their daughter, son-in-law and grandson. After his retirement from Shell Oil, he focused on his love of gardening, cooking and overseeing a major remodeling of their home. He enjoyed tomato growing contests with his mother-in-law, and helping her with her home, yard and errands. He loved family patio parties, which included grilling great food for all to enjoy. He stayed involved and busy, working part time for the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greeley; working with the church council, and keeping the church in top shape until his retirement in 2007. Bert was a remarkable man and will always be remembered as an eternal optimist with an endearing smile. He will be remembered as an extremely hardworking and generous person. He continually demonstrated his love and appreciation for his wife and family with cards, flowers and gifts. He loved spoiling his daughter Melissa, and always enjoyed it when they were in the kitchen cooking and spending time together. He will be deeply missed forever by his family, whom he cherished and loved beyond measure. He is survived by his wife, Colleen of Greeley; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Kevin Bowles of Greeley; grandson, Deric Bowles of Greeley; brother, Darwin (Fritz) Helzer of Fort Morgan; and sister, Ruth Rein of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willard and Russell Helzer; sister-in-law, Bonnie Loftus; and mother-in-law, Isabel Deuel. Private family services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greeley. Shirley is survived by her son, Jon (Holly) Bernhardt of Pierce, Colo.; five grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; a sister; and a nephew. Visitation is from noon-1 p.m. followed by Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2014, both at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Frank, Herta, Dec. 8, 1924- June 22, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 24 Jun 2014 Herta Frank LAUREL Herta Frank was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Bremen, Germany, to Hermann Elfers and Hermine Steding Elfers. She passed away June 22, 2014, at the age of 89, at the Richardson Cottage in Laurel. After completing her education, she worked for a company newspaper and provided written articles. Upon the advance of WWII, she became involved with the USO (United Services Organization) which provides support for American servicemen. During this job, Herta met Alex P. Frank, and after getting to know each other, he proposed marriage. So, she migrated to the U.S.A., specifically Laurel, and they were married on Dec. 16, 1947. Herta adapted to many life changes such as learning a new language, English, adjusting to farm living and meeting many new folks. Throughout the years Herta enjoyed many types of card games with different organizations and many friends. She attended Garden Club, Hobby Club and attended Montana Women's State Conferences. Throughout over 65 years residing in America, Herta and her sister, Margot Berg-Boencke, took turns traveling between Germany and the U.S.A. Herta would visit Stefan Berg, Margot's son, plus other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alex Frank. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel.
