Wiedeman, Evelyn “Evie” Claudette, Jan. 3, 1934-Sept. 2, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado Age: 80 Residence: Greeley Evelyn “Evie” Claudette Wiedeman, 80, of Greeley, passed away at Bonell Good Samaritan on Sept. 2, 2014. She was born Jan. 3, 1934, to Claude and Birdie (Robinson) Blackburn in Greeley. She married Raymond Wiedeman on May 5, 1952, in Raton, N.M. He passed in June of 2009. Evelyn lived in Eaton from 1953-1960. She moved to Greeley in 1960. She graduated from Greeley High School. Evelyn was an operator for Mountain Bell. She advanced to be a supervisor and then worked in human resources. She retired in 1988. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was very active in the community. She was very involved with her church, Release Society president, and was the president of the Women’s Group at the Greeley Country Club. She was an avid golfer, liked to garden, take walks and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Gary (Marj) Wiedeman, Rory (Sherelyn) Wiedeman and David (Rose Holtkamp) Wiedeman; grandchildren, Justine Andersen, Heidi Horenstein, Gretchen Wiedeman, Hannah Wiedeman, Jake Wiedeman and Tayler Wiedeman; and great-grandchildren, Camden Horenstein, Sydney, Hanna and Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Wiedeman; infant daughter, Sally Jane; and brothers, Walter Blackburn of Grand Junction and Ridge Denning of California. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Herman, Barbara May, July 6, 1930-Aug. 29, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 4 Sep 2014 Age: 84 Residence: Greeley Barbara May Herman, 84, passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born July 6, 1930, in Greeley. Her parents, Benjamin Irvine and Grace (Whipple) Irvine, welcomed her into the world as the last of their three children. She grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High in 1949. On Aug. 28, 1949, she married the love of her life, Alvin J. Herman. Together they raised their family at the east edge of Greeley, while Barbara gardened, knitted, sewed, raised animals and took great care of her family. After the kids left home, Barbara worked at Garnsey & Wheeler Ford Body Shop, retiring 20 years later. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose #909 and Auxiliary of the VFW #6624. The Herman family would like to thank the EMTs, Greeley Fire Department, emergency room personnel, the doctors and nurses at North Colorado Medical Center (especially those in the burn unit) who came to her aid during her brief stay. We also appreciate the Hospice staff for their kind and gentle support during her transition and Scott Moser for meeting with us over a holiday weekend. Barbara is survived by her husband, Al Herman; daughters, Shari Nova and Karen Endahl; son, Alan Herman and his significant other, Debra Poehler-Nelson; sister, Betty Johnson of California; sister-in-law, Beth Irvine, Greeley; grandsons, Jason Casseday, San Diego, and Eric and Austin Endahl, Greeley; granddaughter, Mariah Rogers, St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws. At Barbara’s request, no formal services will be held. For the friends and family who called her “Mom,” just remember she would be the first to remind you to live each day to the fullest.

Margheim, Amelia, September 27th, 1915-September 1st, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 4 Sep 2014 Amelia Margheim, 98, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with Pastor Rich Reisig officiating. Interment will follow at Mitchell City Cemetery in Mitchell. The family has respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in care of the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department or the Mitchell Federated Church. Amelia was born September 27, 1915 in Ault, Colorado, the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Cook) Hoff, Sr. She moved with her family to the Mitchell, Nebraska area, in 1918, where she was raised and received her elementary education and high school degree from Sunflower School. Amelia was united in marriage to Alec Margheim on April 4, 1937, at Mitchell. They resided in the Sunflower Community, being involved in farming and livestock operations until Alec’s death in 1977. Subsequently, Amelia remained on the family farm where she continued to enjoy cooking (angel food cake was her specialty), tending to her plants/flowers, attending adult classes at WNCC and entertaining family and friends. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and maintained her involvement in the family farming business until moving to the Residency Care Center in 2012. She was a very loving wife and mother who sacrificed much for the needs and caring of loved ones. Until its recent closure, she was an active member in St. Paul’s church, at Mitchell, and served for several years as a Sunday School teacher, President of the Ladies Guild and in leadership roles for various church functions. She participated in many community activities which included being a long-time member of the Sunflower Women’s Club and the “Cum Again Club”. Survivors include her daughter, Karen (LeRoy) Johns of Keenesburg, Colorado; sons, Gary (MaryAnn) Margheim of Stafford, Virginia and Jim Margheim (Kathy Bosch) of Mitchell, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lisa (Charlie) Cox, Greg (Bonnie) Margheim, Troy (Tricia) Johns, Marc (Jennifer) Johns, Nancy (Paul) Gorges, Lori (Jamie) Lewis and Bob Margheim; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and infant son, Alec Robert; brothers, Henry Hoff, Jr. and Alec Hoff, Sr.; sisters, Mollie Becker, Dolly Weitzel, Bertha Hettinger, Rosie Becker, Leah Eichman and one grandchild.

She was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Denver to Henry and Sadie (Schneider) Frank. Florence graduated from North High School in Denver. On July 15, 1951, she married Paul Lind in Denver. They settled in the Windsor area to farm. Florence raised the family, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and was the bookkeeper for the family farm. She loved the Denver Broncos, knitting, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. But most of all, she loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor, the Severance Chore Club and the Windsor Exercise Club. She is survived by her sons Timothy (Janet) Lind of Ault, Daniel Lind of Windsor, David (Tammie) Lind of Eaton; daughter Polly (Scott) Winner of Windsor; sister Wilma Ranum of Denver; grandchildren Katie, Michael, Emily, Brigid, Aubrey, Brandon, Trent, Justin, Jaime, Garrett, Mitchell and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Carson, Cache, Taylor, Brynleigh, Dustin, Berea, Max and Carmyn. Georgina was born on April 21, 1930, in Loretto, Kan. to John and Martinia (Schoenberger) Suppes. When Georgina was seven, her family moved to Colorado. She attended high school in Brighton. Georgina married Wendell Poland in December 1947. They later divorced. She married John H. Kanzler on Nov. 4, 1962. He passed away on Nov. 22, 1996. Georgina was a housewife and mother. She farmed with John in the Kersey/LaSalle areas for 13 years. After retiring from farming, the family moved to La Salle, where she sold Avon for 26 years. For most of those years she made President’s Club and Honor Society. One of her biggest joys in life was helping raise Bobbi and Tammi Geisert. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and she was very active with Trinity Lutheran Church. Georgina enjoyed her family, camping, fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. Her biggest passion was for her Lord, Jesus Christ. She spent time with him daily. She read through the Bible at least once a year. Georgina is survived by her children, Eugene (Siriporn) Poland of Evans, Lynne (Chris) Poland of Westminster, Tim (Connie) Poland of Billings, Mont., Betty (Mark) Gillespie of Greeley, Johnna (Christopher) Mossor of Scott AFB, Ill., Mike (Donna) Smith and Gary Novotny all of Phoenix; two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Thornton and Georgina (Jim) Isaac of Lousville, Ky.; one brother, Sonny (Charlene) Suppes of Brighton; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Patty; daughter-in-law, Dixie; three brothers and five sisters.     3. Stencel, Joseph “Joe”, Feb. 20, 1926-Aug. 26, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 28 Aug 2014 Age: 88 Residence: Eaton Joseph “Joe” Stencel passed away Aug. 26, 2014, at Life Care, Greeley. He was formerly living at The Greeley Place, Greeley. He was born Feb. 20, 1926, on a farm near Pierce, Colo., with his twin brother, Benjamin, to John and Marie (Schwab) Stencel, who immigrated in 1907 from Hussenbach, Russia of the Volga River Region. They were the eighth and ninth children of the family and were the youngest. Joe married Evelyn M. Lohr in Greeley, on Feb. 10, 1946, and they had four children. They were married for 65 years when Evelyn passed away on Aug. 19, 2011. Joe attended schools in the Pierce and Galeton areas. He and Evelyn farmed in the areas surrounding Greeley from 1946-1970, when they moved to Eaton. He continued working in the agriculture industry, retiring from the Road & Bridge Department of Weld County in 1990. Joe was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eaton since 1970. He was a 4-H leader for eight years and coached many of his children’s 4-H basketball, volleyball and softball teams. He was an enthusiastic spectator and supporter of all his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school and summer activities. The most cherished memories of his grandchildren are seeing Grandpa and Grandma cheering them on at all of their activities and the many summer camping trips eating fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy after a day of fishing with Grandpa. He enjoyed watching the Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies and especially the Eaton Reds teams. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Weld County, and enjoyed bowling and playing pool with his many friends at the Greeley Senior Center. After retiring, Joe was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association and travelled to many of the world tournaments, where he placed in the top 10 several times. He was inducted into the Colorado Horseshoe Pitchers Association Hall of Fame in 2003. He also won several medals participating in the Senior Olympics. Joe is survived by his sons, Terry (Dana) Stencel, Greeley, and Steve (Kelly) Stencel, Loveland; daughters, Cindy (Chuck) Cluster, Centennial, and Gwen (Russ) Leffler, Eaton; twin brother, Ben (Ilene) Stencel, Loveland; grandchildren, Craig Bruce, Christa Sanchez, Jennifer McCraw, Lindy Jones, Jody Schlim, Shelly Garcia, Jeromy Stencel, Sarah Zamora, Luke Leffler, Natalie Leffler, Andrew Leffler, Josh Florence and Kiele Florence; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, and his parents; brothers, Henry, John Jr., Fred, and Reuben; sisters, Irene Miller, Lydia Pappenheim and Esther Foos; and great-grandson, Antonio Zamora. She worked as a bookkeeper in the family owned Tire and Sanitation business for 30 plus years. In 2011, Ella moved to Jackson, Wyoming. She enjoyed cooking, after retirement she enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Jackson Hole, spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She also liked playing slot machines. Ella was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her three sons, Gary (Marilyn), Teddy (Jerilyn) and Larry (Deb) Olson; three grandchildren, Gina Olson, Amy Bruce and Jeff Bruce; and four great grandchildren, Malcom Allison, Myllian Allison, Gracelyn Allison and Davis Bruce. Dorsett Heath Care Center in Spearfish, South Dakota. Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Sundance United Methodist Church with Glen Wyatt officiating. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to benefit Multiple Sclerosis or a charity of your choice. Dee was born June 4, 1931 to Henry and Catherine (Michel) Lind in Batesland, SD. In early 1937, her family moved to Bayard, Nebraska where she received her education, graduating from Bayard High School in 1950. She attended Chadron State College, receiving a teaching certificate, and began an elementary teaching career in Kimball, NE. On November 21, 1953 she married Gilbert “Gib” Wilson who was serving in the United States Air Force. The couple lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for several months before her husband was deployed to Korea. She returned to Nebraska and continued her education at Chadron State and resumed teaching in Scottsbluff, NE. Upon her husband’s return to the United States, they moved to George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, where she taught at the Air Force Base School. After her husband’s honorable discharge from the Air Force, they returned to Chadron, where he continued his education. When her husband began his college teaching career, the couple lived in Laramie and Rock Springs, Wyoming; Coeur d’ Alene and Moscow, Idaho. While in Idaho, Dee was a part-time student at the University of Idaho. The couple also lived in Pendleton, Oregon before returning to Wyoming. The couple made their home and raised their family in Riverton, Wyoming for the next 26 years, where Dee held various positions with Mountain Bell, later known as US West and now Century Link. Following retirement, Dee, with her husband, moved to a ranch near Sundance. Dee enjoyed collecting, sewing, quilting, crafts, and joining her husband hunting, fishing and traveling. Dee was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women, a member of Chapter H P.E.O., Republican Women, and Crook County Cattle Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley Stockwell and younger brother, Bobby Lind. Dee is survived by her husband Gilbert “Gib” Wilson of Sundance, WY, three daughters; Judy and husband Dan Neal of Casper, WY, Linda and husband Michael Fleming of Denver, CO and Shirley Ann of California. She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Toppenish, Wash., to Conrad and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Gabel. Elvera grew up on the family farm, west of Billings, and was the youngest of ten children. She attended Elysian School, worked on the family farm, in a cafeteria and at the Billings Airport food service. On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Robert “Bob” Yost. They farmed and ranched west of Billings for over 40 years. Elvera was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Congregational Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking and worked as a cooking aide at Canyon Creek School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Willy, Edmund and Floyd, and her sisters, Molly, Mary Hein, Margret Rutt, Anna Lovelace, Sara Heiser and Frieda Knaub. Fritz was born Aug. 16, 1934 in Torrington, the son of George and Lydia (Schnell) Fritzler. He grew up and received his education there, graduating Torrington High School in 1954. Starting when he was in ninth grade, he worked as a custodian at the Torrington schools and worked there for 16 years. He married Jane Caldwell on June 30, 1956 in Torrington. He then worked for Torrington Plumbing from 1972 until 1982 when he started his own sanitation business. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 until 1960. He retired in January of 2003. Fritz enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, watching high school and college football games, going to Branson, Mo. every year and listening to country music. Fritz is survived by his wife, Jane, of Torrington; three sons, Dennis Fritzler and his wife Tracy of Denver, N.C., Leonard Fritzler and his wife Loreen of Lingle, and Larry Fritzler and his wife Debbie of Gering, Neb.; grandchildren Josh Fritzler, Jessica Sylvester, Callie Fritzler, Justin Fritzler, Dusty Fritzler, Jason Fritzler, Zachary Fritzler, Jaala Hemingway, Daniel Hemingway and Peter Hemingway; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Hemingway; a brother, George Fritzler; and three sisters, Lillian Backer, Arlene Barker and Althea Greene.

Fabrizius, Arthur, Dec. 5, 1946-Aug. 21, 2014 The Tribune Greeley, Colorado 24 Aug 2014 Age: 67 Residence: Greeley Arthur Leroy Fabrizius, 67, of Greeley, passed away Aug. 21, 2014 at his home to be with the Lord. He was born Dec. 5, 1946 in Greeley to William and Elizabeth (Mauter) Fabrizius. Art lived in the local area all his life, graduating from Highland High School in Ault in 1964. In June of 1973 he married Patsy M. Woods. Art was self-employed as a rancher and horse trader. He was proud of his business as a horse trader because he and his nephew Jason who was a partner could conduct business from his yard. He retired in 2008 but was involved in rental properties. If you saw smoke west of Ault, Art was burning something. Art never knew a stranger, especially kids and was always there to help everyone in need. His favorite sayings were “the thing of it is,” “it is what it is,” “tell you about me” and “I don’t care what anybody thinks.” When sending cards to the family he was always very expressive. Art loved nice cars, pickups, horse trailers and finer things in life. He loved to shop and Christmas was very special to him. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and brother. His grandsons were the joy of his life. He accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was a member of Greeley Wesleyan Church. We would like to thank our sister, Patty for the kidney she gave our brother for seven wonderful years of a better life. Art is survived by his children, Landra Fabrizius, Louis (Gina) Fabrizius, John (Sheryl) Fabrizius, Mickie (Steve) Cobb, and Sandy (Dean) Sorenson; brother, William (Lari) Fabrizius Jr. of Grover, sisters, Patty (Ron) Kauffman of Greeley and Evelyn (Duane) Scheller of Fort Collins; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, David Scheller. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Fritz died Aug. 21, 2014 at the Goshen Care Center. A memorial has been established to the Goshen County Fairgrounds for tables and benches. Zitterkopf , Lorine Virginia, December 18, 1916- August 21, 2014 Scottsbluff Star Herald Scottsbluff, Nebraska 23 Aug 2014 Lorine Virginia Zitterkopf, 97, of Gering, Nebraska passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Residency Care Center. Her memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at noon at the First United Methodist Church in Gering with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Private family graveside will be prior at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-6 pm at Gering Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Gering or the Northfield Retirement Communities North Star Angels. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Lorine was born on December 18, 1916 in Sterling, Nebraska to Carl Aaron and Leona Pearl (Hawbaker) Buehler. In 1920, the family moved to a farm SW of Gering. She attended Cedar Valley School and graduated from Gering High School in 1935. She married Conrad Zitterkopf on September 23, 1938 and lived on the family farm for several years. Later they moved to their farm SW of Gering on Carter Canyon road. She helped her husband with the farm work. Her husband, Conrad passed away in 1968. She remained on the farm for 15 years until moving to Gering in 1984, later residing at Northfield Villa in 1993. Lorine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gering for over 75 years. She was treasurer of the United Methodist Women, Dome Rock and Cedar Canyon School Boards, and Carter Canyon Project Club. Volunteer work included being a life member of Regional West Medical Center Auxiliary with over 1,000 hours of service. She additionally cooked for church activities, funerals and “Old Settlers” at Oregon Trail Days. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, growing flowers, especially roses, making quilts and sewing. Survivors include her daughters, Verna Jean Meier of Scottsbluff, Connie (E.J.) Russel of Gering, Jane (Ron) Kramer of Salina, KS and son Dennis (Ann) Zitterkopf of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jon (Vicki) Lockwood of Plattsmouth, NE, Brian (Yvette) Zitterkopf and Andrew (Gail) Zitterkopf both of Houston, TX, and Tracy (Todd) Schoenhofer of Andover, KS; step grandchildren Larry (Sally) Russel of Scottsbluff, Gene (Evie) Russel of Gering, Lynn Russel, Mary (Jeff) Waitt and Gail (Francis) Scalley all of Connecticut and Kody (Katherine) Kramer of New Orleans; great grandchildren, Taylor Lockwood, Cade and Brett Schoenhofer and Chase Zitterkopf; 12 step great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law Loyd Durfee of Mitchell, sisters-in-law Josephine Buehler, Rita Zitterkopf, Margaret Jerger and Hilda Skruck and numerous nieces and nephews. Frickle, Marjorie Ellen, May 11, 1926- Aug. 20, 2014 Billings Gazette Billings, Montana 23 Aug 2014 Marjorie Frickle was born May 11, 1926, in Laurel, to Henry and Mabel Frickel and passed away Aug. 20, 2014, in Billings, at the age of 88. She attended Hardin High School and went on to get her nursing degree from Montana State University. Margie was a very competent and skilled nurse and was loved and respected by the staff and by her patients. She spent her professional career serving Indian Health Services on reservations. At age 59, she retired and came to live with her brother, Jerry. She loved her dogs and had several poodles over the years. She really enjoyed playing solitaire and doing crosswords puzzles. Another one of her hobbies was knitting. She made numerous beautiful afghans and sweaters for her family and friends. She loved living in the country with her brother Jerry, as it reminded her of growing up on the family farm in Hardin. She was a great sister, a wonderful friend and a beloved Aunt. Her niece, Susan, and her brother, Jerry considered her to be a second mom. She was incredibly generous with her family and other charitable organizations throughout her life. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mabel Frickel; sister-in-law, Maxine (Frickel); and brother-in-law, Bert Mangus. She is survived by her brother, Sonny Frickel of Helena; Evelyn (Jim) Whitson of Billings; Jerry Frickel of Billings; nieces and nephews, Susan (Dennis) Jerke of Austin, Texas; Scott (Julie) Frickel of Helena; Marlon (Susan) Mangus of Noblesville, Ind.; Bryan, (Colleen) Mangus of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Shon (Honey) Mangus of Billings, and numerous great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. He was born and raised in Jordan, to Samuel and Erna Schwindt on Sep. 30, 1944. Sam was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister, and a son, Tony. He is survived by his daughter, Valerie, his two sisters, a daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren. Sam earned his living as an electrician and dedicated his life to his faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gun collecting. As of late, he especially enjoyed tending to his garden and sharing it with those around him.
