    3. I believe this hacker was trying to get someone to send the hacker money. When my chat friend started asking questions then the hacker signed off so we did not get any instructions on how the exchange of money would occur. Change your email password attached to Facebook and also your Facebook password often. I had a very difficult time getting back into Facebook but if you wait a couple days it will let allow you back in. I do not chat so I am not so sure that is why you got hacked. We watched our credit cards carefully and everything has been okay. But everyone should regularly change their email and Facebook passwords. What are they looking for is my question? 3. That happens on Yahoo, Msn, Hotmail, etc. when people use weak passwords. The spammers are after your address books. There's rules here on creating strong passwords: http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ Check password strength here: http://www.passwordmeter.com/ If your score isn't 100%, you have a weak password. 3. Sheila, Sorry to hear about that. Hope all is soon resolved with your account. This is certainly something for us all to watch out for. To all: in addition to a good password, I recommend that if you haven't done so already, you set up your Facebook account with a secure browser and login alerts. This is NOT the default setting. You will receive an alert if someone logs into your account from a computer not registered to your account. Go to: -Account tab --> Account Settings -Account Security -Check both: 1. Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible 2. When a new computer or mobile device logs into this account: Send me an email If you have Facebook bookmarked in your browser, you will need to remark it with the new site address. (This uses https://... instead of http://...) Also, if you log in from two places (home and work, from a smartphone, etc.), these will show up as alerts the first time you log in after the new set-up. -Catherine On Wed, Mar 2, 2011 at 11:21 AM, Sheila Derevage <[email protected]> wrote: > > I have some of you as friends on my Facebook.   So I wanted to notify you that my facebook was hacked this morning.   The hacker contacted some of my friends using Chat on facebook and told them I was in London and was robbed and need money.   For right now my facebook account has been disabled.   I just wanted to insure everyone that this was not true and I am sure this was a hacker trying to get money.   I am a computer security analyst and my advice is make your passwords something you can remember but not easy to figure out.  Just be careful if you have a feeling about someone chating with you start questioning that person as to there identity.   Be careful not to put personal information out on facebook hackers are out there looking for this info. > > Sheila Kreutzer Derevage > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

    3. Hello All, I recently  found names of 2 Wiederspahns in a Mental Health Institution cemetery in Saskatchewan.   I knew we must have had relatives there, but never dreamed I would find any in a place like that. One of them  died in 1933, not sure about the other one. There is a website at www.findagrave.com . In case some of you haven't heard of it. I stumbled across it last week, a wonderful woman was very helpful pointing me the right direction   & provided me the phone numbers & names in Canada who can help. When I find out if they are my decsendents, I'll let you know. This is pretty exciting & interesting. Susan H. 3. My ancestors left Saratov and travelled to Bremerhaven in a covered wagon. According to the descendants of the children making this trip, the Russians allowed them to bring very little with them to bring to America. The oldest son was in charge of the coffee mill. Sorry I can't help more. 1. [GV] Ship Records from Germany to Russia 1763
    2. Sheila Derevage
    3. Would anyone who has access to the book "The Emigration from Germany to Russia in the Years 1763-1862" mind doing a look up for me. I am looking for ship records from Germany to Russia for Johannes Kreutzer born around 1748 listed. He is listed in the first settlers list as #25 in Herzog. He is not listed in the Kuhlburg ship records. I think I know where he is from but a Rienhard Hofer in Germany is offering to find records in Johannes Kreutzer's home town Roding Bayern. Rienhard Hofer charges about 48.00 an hour and wants a couple of hundred down to start the research. I am not familier with research cost in Germany and he was not refered to me so I am a little hesitate to proceed. If anyone has some one they can recommend I would be interested. Thanks Sheila Kreutzer Derevage
