Seeking maiden name of Elizabeth B., wife of James A.J. Tidwell, who lived in the Line Creek District of Spalding County 1870 & 1880. Also would like to find their marriage date (between 1860 and 1870). Both are buried at County Line Christian Church in Fayette County, just a few hundred feet from the Spalding County line. James, b. 1836, d. 1915, was the son of John J. Tidwell and his first wife, Nancy Camilla Byram (Birom in Coweta marriage records). John was raised by his father and step-mother, Martha Westmoreland, and lived his growing-up years in Meriwether County. Records of his early years include ... 1840 Meriwether Co., GA census, JOHN TIDWELL, between Solomon Hornsby & D.B. It looks as if they had no children, unless they were born and died between censuses. I have checked books and online resources for Spalding and Fayette but have not checked the Spalding County courthouse for marriage records. According to resources I have here at home, they were not married in Coweta. My Meriwether records for that period are spotty. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Judy Kilgore Newnan, GA
