Joab Brooks was born abt. 1712 to John Brooks and Winifred ? (some researchers added Susan Narsin to Winifred's name about 15 years ago - which is not proven. ). There is documentation for Winifred's name. In 1735, Joab married Catherine Dimmaux (b. abt. 1715 in VA) in Chatham County, NC. (Searching for Sources) MYSTERY: Their first child was not born until 1770, THIRTY-FIVE YEARS after the marriage. Catherine would have been 55 years old. And she had Six Kids in Five Years! Not.
