Good point, Dot, and two more good "X" names. My whole point was that if this was in a directory, the "X" would more than likely stand for a name, middle or maiden, whichever the case might be, rather than an "unknown" or a lack of literacy. But, herein lies another problem. Trying to find her in the census with an "X" name would probably be impossible since the census taker would probably spell it as he heard it, thus: "Zaviera," "Zenia," or "Zena."
