Sorry folks, I misled you in the info about John Butler's estate. I stated his daughter was the executrix of the estate when in actuality it was his wife, Martha, who was the executrix. The deed conveying the land John Butler won in the 1827 lottery was filed in Meriwether County. The land was in the 9th District, LL 269, 202 1/2 acres, in originally Troup County, later Meriwether County. The deal was made (date of instrument) 7 Jan 1834 and recorded and filed 25 Sept 1834 (Meriwether County Deed Book C, page 377). My GGGG grandfather, Robert Boyd, bought the entire land lot for only $250. That's about $1.24 per acre. What a deal! Judy
