I have an original book signed by J.D. FRY, given to his friend Miss Fannie HOLDERBY, the book apparently was named "Stepping Heavenward" by E. Prentiss, this was apparently in 1869 - I also have a will dated July 20, 1795 of Samuel DAVIS, executrix Ann WRIGHT, names verifying her are Samuel WRIGHT, Samuel MATTHEWS, Harry COLLINS, Richard BLOW - in the book are names mentioned, Mrs. FRY of Jersey City, Mrs. Winthrey from Brooklyn, J. E. ELLIOTT - other books listed as by this author are: "Flower of the Faily", the "Susy Books", "Little Lous Sayings and Doings." I am looking for some history on these books/people or someone that may be researching them, they are not my line. P.S. The will is an original. I guess I should say a family member has the original copies. delilah evans ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peggy Chapman" <churchlady@tds.net> To: <GEORGIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004 10:24 PM Subject: Re: [GEORGIA] FRY > > There was a sheriff in Polk County, Tennessee named Fry or Frye at one > time.
