Thanks for your note RB, A good way to determine kinship is to use the Chart of Consanguinity. You'll find it at http://www.our-domain.net/consangu.html It looks as if Simon's father, listed as "O" on the chart, is also the father of Sinon's brother, whom we'll call "B". B had a son named Allen which makes him Simon's nephew. Simon had a son, whom we'll call "S" who later had a daughter whom he named Lucy. Allen and S were first cousins, since their fathers were brothers. Since Lucy is one generation removed from her father, that makes her Allen's first cousin, once removed. Now, wasn't that fun?
