    3. The medical records for patients at Milledgeville State Sanitarium are available in both loose records and on microfilm at the GA Archives for 1842-1924. I have used these records and some of them are very interesting and have good family information. Others are sketchy. For records after 1924, a court order is required, and they have to be accessed at or through the hospital itself. He died there i n 11/1/1952, and was sent home for burial. I contacted the Hospital re his records in 2001, and was told I could ask for a judge to allow the files to be opened and I could copy of have them photo them. The court order is the only way to obtain anything on them. There is a cemetery and they do have records, except to walk the cemetery that is the only way you can find anything except the court order.
