If your male ancestor was a young man around 1836 and in Georgia, chances are high that he participated in the (Creek and Cherokee) Indian Wars either in GA or FL. Since there is not much on-line for these rosters, we're working hard to compile lists so that others can be helped. If you think your ancestor was in one of these companies, they probably got bounty land and a pension later on. In the rosters you may even find some neighbors or future-in-laws serving along with them. Please pass this along to any surname lists or other lists that you think might be helped by the information.
